I read that on my ticket too Les.. .but in the fine print they say they WILL allow disposable cameras.. although I think where we will be sitting, a disposable ain't gonna capture SQUAT.
I still don't know whether I'll try to bring in my camera or not.....
BTW, FAB picture Di!!

My tix for the Montreal show said no cameras but everyone was happy snappy where I was standing. Security didn't seem to give a toss.

in my experience, 98 percent of the time they say don't bring cameras, you can usually get away with it as long as it's not a pricey camera and if the security check isn't too bad. in that case, you can just hide it somewheres while they search you and your bag and then sneak it in and see if others are taking pics after that.
I've had plenty of cases where I contacted the venue and they would say absolutely no cameras allowed, only to have taken some great pictures after all was said and done, haha. Not sure on people's success at MSG, but if you have a decent hiding spot and are willing to wait it out and see if others are doing it too when they get in, I say go for it.

I went to the show at MSG last night and it was fantastic.
I brought my camera... none of the security said anything to me. Lots of people were snapping pics.

I have had good experiences and bad. It all depends on the venue. Most inside venues I have found do not do a major bag search. I got thouroughly searched at an outside INXS show for some reason. I still got my camera in hiding it. When it has been printed on the tickets I still seem to get one in. Just do not bring some huge professional one. The smaller venues are more relaxed I have found. For example, Erasure a few weeks ago was great, the staff could care less. Now the venue where DD played were horrid and threatened to take my camera away. Mainly because I was up front and they all of a sudden started yelling at people. One place I went on the Astro tour was nasty and did take my camera away and that was a larger venue. I got it back though after the show but was rightfully ticked off. As for the Police show, I did not take a camera in since we were too far away.
Good luck and have a great time!

Security was supposed to be "tight" at the DD show here in VA (2005), but when I got to the security gate (without my camera), I saw that they were hardly checking anything, except for bags and purses. I went back to the car, slid my camera down my shirt (between the girls ;D) and breezed on in. I was able to take all the pictures I wanted during the show. The security guy on my side (John's side ;D) didn't seem to care at all. On the other hand the security guy n the other side (Andy's side) was an Justin Beiber Fan (according to MamaAng.......where is she anyway? ?) and wouldn't let people get pictures. She was able to sneak a few in anyway. I say, stick it down your pants and go!!!! ;D

Back in March 2005 said the same thing on my tickets. Even called the venue a few times myself to make sure. They said no cameras. So I took my little digital camera anyway. Come close to letting us In I slid that in the back of my pants tied a jacket around my waist. They searched me bag, me hat had me lift up the jacket. They didn't make me turn around tho. Once inside everyone was taking photos with disposibles, digital cameras and cell phones so I did too. Security outside searched while security inside could give a shit. Though back in 2000 at the St. Louis show we were told we could only take pics for the first three songs with a flash. The rest had to be without flashes. So I had this disposible camera and thought the damn flash was off. I snapped a pic and the damn thing flashed. The security beeaatch wanted to take my camera. I talked her out of it. 2 months pregnant, pissed off at a few people I went with (and had gone with for 5 shows) not gonna have some twit tell me to give her my camera. That beeaatch also let like 5 of her friends stand right in front of us (we were in the 2nd row). Oooo wanted to beat her ass. I'm rambling so I'll shut the hell up now

I think they are searching for weapons more then cameras really.
Even Disney World looks for weapons and alcohol in all your bags and coolers.

I'm going tonight to Giants Stadium and I am bringing a camera... although I don't know why seeing as we're sitting so far away. I never travel without it... you know, just in case.
