av1611.org/rockdead.htmlThe website's information is compiled by some hardcore Jesus freaks who actually ask you to choose life (bible study, supressing the best natural urges, listening to DC Talk) or death (rock & roll, hookers and blow, presumably). I know where my allegiance lies. The list of rock star deaths is interesting to say the least. They include Chet Baker, who lived his life like a rock star, though was actualy a jazz trumpeter. They also left out George Harrison, Joe Strummer and Elliott Smith, so it's possible the list was compiled more than five years ago. Clicking 'I choose death' takes you to a page where you're nagged and guilted about rejecting Christ, which all comes off like a conversation with your least favorite aunt. Clicking 'I choose life' takes you to a similar page where you're given a how-to guide to stopping the evil rock & roll from overtaking your life. Even when you take their side, they're still treating you like a turd they think needs a polish. Long live Rock & Roll!

WTF? KAREN CARPENTER, A ROCK STAR? ? I don't think so. And besides, it would seem that what they did was take the number of ROCK STARS ONLY--apart from the general population-- and average their ages at the time of their death and then take the age of the average Joes (the other 99.9% of the population) at the time of their death and compared those two numbers. What was it my math teacher said the other day? There's white lies, lies, damned lies, and then there's statistics...........

Why do these people assume dying is so bad!?!?!
That fear of death thing is weird coming from people who expect to be sitting on fluffy clouds gossiping with Jesus in between their harp lessons and keeping people from jumping off of bridges at Christmas!
You also notice how their entire religious belief is based on FEAR, period? Do this or suffer!!! Repent or be damned! Clean up your act now or pay the price for eternity!!! They try to talk about reward, but the statutes of perfection and grace are so narrow and unpredictable that no one can really ever measure up, so they cannot use reward as a motivator. Perfection is impossible, grace is unredictable. So FEAR!!! They constantly turn to FEAR.

When you look at the list only 85 where actually caused by something the person was able to be in control of. Alcohol, drugs, and suicide.
Then 21 unknown reasons, then you have the rest that seem the rock stars couldnt control.
Oh these type of groups really need to get a better hobbie.

Well, speaking as a Christian (Lutheran variety), I'll say that that's not how I like to see the religion represented; the main motivation is supposed to be happiness and fulfillment, not fear. Unofortunately, fear is a more easily triggered emotion, so that's where a lot of religious leaders turn for motivation. Hence the, um, stuff like this.
I think it's pretty silly too. Blech!
