You won’t see them do anything on their own because they are not real musicians. How do you think they get through tours? Gary Numan has been ‘performing’ an acoustic number every day since lock down, sometimes with the help of his daughter Persia. Classy vimeo.com/403080046/2b8a5ca416

In all seriousness, D2 have to do something more than a pathetic weekly Twitter ‘Q&A’. I don’t want to hear about ‘but they want to spend time with their families’. Many artists / celebrities are doing something for their fans - spending a great deal of time and effort to help pass the time and I don’t hear them complain.
How much more coaching does DDHQ need?
I find the whole thing amateurish - and it hasn't just been limited to COVID-19. If this had been the 90’s I’m pretty certain DD would be desperate for the coverage.
Not cool.

JT and Roger play live as our rhythm unit..we know Simon can sing live and Dom is a great musician so it leaves Nick! Nick has prerecorded tracks--which makes it even easier--just a nightmare on coordinating!! lol Hey it can even be acoustic--Dom and Simon--nothing wrong with that! KISS--keep it simple stupid!! Four can you be specific..so you are saying that live Dom, Roger and JT do not play live? It's all recorded? I am fine with this: but all from their homes.... or this gem especially for what's going on:

See I disagree...this gives them more time to spend with family and loved ones..they have no obligation to do this--some are doing it--many are not! But I think it would be nice to do something just as 1 and done thing--doesn't have to be a weekly thing!!

I thinks the band should do whatever they want. I think we just have to be happy they are still releasing new music and try to be as current as possible. A lot of bands who are into this business aren't as creative as DD. There is a lot of complaining about albums taking to long etc etc. Just let the guys take their time listen to Liberty in the meantime and it will come eventually.

What has this got to do about being thankful for a new album? It’s about applying a selfless approach and of a ‘coming together in need’ necessity. It’s about showing a united front and that we are all equal in desperate times. Do something incredible and beautiful with the celebrity they have been awarded.

The only thing left to do is play live on a rooftop, sing brand new songs, then shelve the whole thing and release it after they break up.
Giving weekly Q & A is 400% better than the old Ask Katy approach, and is more interactive directly with fans. Lets face it, in the old days you have to put up with a news letter and a pin badge every so often. DDHQ has always been a shambles, thats just par for the course, and Im surprised there is so much fuss about a has-been 80s band who cant play instruments, according to fans.
You would think this would be an ideal time to lay low and be with families, as who could concentrate on music if relatives are ill or in hospital?
Its encouraging to see we need the band now more than ever, but surely all this fuss and panic is going to have to decline before we can start to move ahead.
