Well, I haven't seen The Queen, here in Mexico, is not in the cinemas, but with what I have I go for:
Best picture: "Babel"
Best actor: I am guessing Forest Whitaker
Best actress: Penelope Cruz
Best supporting actor: Alan Arkin
Best supporting actress: Adriana Barraza
Best director: Here I have a dilema, I always been fan of Martin Scorsese and I really respect him, but this time the one who in my eyes really deserve the Oscar for all his work, dedication and excelent job is to Alejandro González Iñárritu -My cousin of course!-

i definitely want to see "The Last King of Scotland". has anyone seen Forest Whitaker this season on ER? EXCELLENT. He is quite talented. I'm not an ER fan, but he's also been fantastic on the Shield. He's just such an amazing talent.

i definitely want to see "The Last King of Scotland". has anyone seen Forest Whitaker this season on ER? EXCELLENT. He is quite talented. I'm not an ER fan, but he's also been fantastic on the Shield. He's just such an amazing talent. In a recurring role, he plays a guy who is suing one of the doctors for malpractice. He came into the ER for a cough and ended up having a small stroke while in a crowded ER. He lost the use of his left arm and his livelihood as a carpenter. He later lost his marriage and children to divorce. It's a very sad character as he loses his case. In the last episode, the wife of the doctor returns home with her infant son to find Forest's character sitting in her living room. CREEPY. Back to the subject at hand: I've just read about "Notes on a Scandal" and I think I'll hop in my car to go see it in a little bit. Thanks for the thread. I've been sitting around with nothing to do...I think I need to go take in a couple of movies this week.

Beyonce' was not nominated....there is justice after all!
Just hope Jennifer Hudson and Eddie Murphy get the awards for best supporting roles.
Best actor/actress....I'm hoping for Peter O'Toole. The best actress is really tough - all 5 equally deserve it - though I'm pulling for Judi Dench.
Best film: The Departed Best director: Martin Scorsese

Please let Peter O'Toole win. That would be so cool. What a charming and interesting man.

I LOVED "Little Miss Sunshine"!!!
My Predictions (although NOT my presonal picks)...
Best Picture: "The Queen" the only 2 movies in this category I saw were "Departed" and "Little Miss Sunshine". I"d go with "Little Miss Sunshine" personally ;D
Best Actor: Forest Whitaker. I love him , but I also like Peter O'Toole. Either one will be great to me. I loathe Leonardo DiCaprio.
Best Actress: Probably Helen Mirren, but I am a HUGE Meryl Streep fan and the Devil Wears Prada was wonderful!!
Suporting Actor: This one is tough, I like ALL of these actors (especially Alan Arkin). I'll say either Eddie Murphry, but I'd like to see it go to Alan Arkin.
Suporting Actress: I'll say Jennifer Hudson (I too, would love to see Beyonce go apeshit), although I'd LOVE little Abigail Breslin to win. She is absolutley talented!!
Best Director: I think it'll be between Martin Scorsese or Clint Eastwood. I'd like to see Clint win, I love his movies, especially Bridges of Madison County (with my girl Meryl)

I really need to see some movies. I havent' seen any of these, though I have wanted to see the Pursuit of Happyness, though i know i will cry watching that one.
Little Miss Sunshine looks good as does the Devil Wears Prada.
Babel looks like a long and depressing movie.
It should be a good awards show with Ellen hosting. I like her.
