The Lake of Vagli in Tuscany, Italy is drained every 10 years and reveals the old village of Fabbriche di Careggine. When is it due to be drained again?

Why do they keep allowing it to be submerged again? It's beautiful. Can they build a manmade lake nearby if it's needed for a water supply?

Absolutely fascinating!
Now I'm gonna have to ask my hubs about it...weird that he's never mentioned it. We were in Lucca in 1994, and I would have loved to have seen it.
