The Lake of Vagli in Tuscany, Italy is drained every 10 years and reveals the old village of Fabbriche di Careggine.  When is it due to be drained again? |

Why do they keep allowing it to be submerged again? It's beautiful. Can they build a manmade lake nearby if it's needed for a water supply?

Absolutely fascinating!
Now I'm gonna have to ask my hubs about it...weird that he's never mentioned it. We were in Lucca in 1994, and I would have loved to have seen it.
