Obviously not my copy (I'm too comfy on the couch), but this is a vinyl boxset I have rather enjoyed in recent years - Transvision Vamp's three albums on coloured vinyl: wonderful power pop with a punky dusting. And Wendy James was always a beauty... I only went and bought both the vinyl AND CD Boxsets!!! Demon have been fantastic by the way - the inner sleeves of the vinyl had split in places so they’re sending out a complete replacement set, including the coloured vinyl!! upload pic

I didn't know there was a CD boxset as well - just checked out the tracklisting for that and it's very thorough - I only ever had the albums though, so don't know the quality of extra tracks and remixes?

Not listened yet mate. It’s been an expensive few months! I’m just trying to get the funds together for Elton John’s Jewels!! (Ooer Missus) Haha! I’ll have a listen this weekend. Got the place to myself. Oh..and the signed photo was also included in the CD box.

My latest vinyl purchase: Rolling Stones, G. Michael & Real Estate have digital download codes. DD is white vinyl edition. Maybe you don't know about Real Estate. This is one of my favorite modern band. The music on this album is a bit like "Abbey Road" (rather Harrison territory) and first DD.

Thanks! I didn’t know Listen Without Prejudice remaster was also on vinyl? I bought the CD box set but it is not the best with design. The notes are too small to read! Lol

I wouldn’t regard myself as Elton John’s greatest fan. In fact I only have 2 CD’s by him. One of them is naturally a greatest hits compilation and the other is entitled ‘Love Songs’ which I suppose is just another way of marketing a greatest hits album but without the jive and disco element. However, who could possibly discount Elton’s prolific career as a virtuoso pianist, performer, the outrageous flamboyance, the stage costumes and not to mention his incredible history both on a personal level and of his music? He’s a master at reinvention and is a veteran at knowing how to write a great song, along with his musical maestro Bernie Taupin. I’ve always admired Sir Elton. Although he can be a bit of a Queen beeaatch by all accounts! Ha! Anyway, I wanted to delve a little deeper into his back catalogue and have a little bit more to play than just the hits and albums - and what better opportunity than ‘Jewels’ his latest contribution to his repertoire? It only arrived yesterday so I've not had the time to sit and enjoy it. However, goodness me, it’s certainly concise! There are no full albums and hits included here. Having said that, the foundations of some of his best work are. I’m intrigued to investigate and research how his career developed and just work out for myself how his incredible career progressed. I’m already impressed with the trademark green and extensive CD selection. And the book!! Wow, it’s beautifully curated with plenty of information written by Elton himself. I shall be busy over the next few weeks!

I am kind of surprised that Duran Duran did not mention anything about the sudden passing of Tony Lewis lead singer of The Outfield on Monday. I thought for sure they would say something about it since he was a fellow British artist. My favorite groups from the UK are Duran Duran, Tears for Fears, Simple Minds, and The Outfield. Quick addendum to this: Your Love strangely became a rally song during New England Patriots games. It’s unexpected afterlife started with Scott Zolak, a former Pat who professed his love for the song as both a radio personality and color commentator for the once glorious Patriots. Here’s some fun videos of Pats fans losing their mind to the song at Gillette Stadium: Happier days here in New England

Got Tiny Magnetic Pets' new album Blue Wave today - recorded through the pandemic, obviously. Good, honest female-fronted synthpop: if you like Client or Goldfrapp you'd enjoy this. Although they aren't a major name some of us may have come across them whilst they supported the likes of OMD and Midge Ure in recent years.
