OK, whatever I don't have done just ain't gonna get done. I've got a bit of short-timer's disease, but I am not bitter about the3 whole thing.
They're throwing a nice going-away tomorrow.

Did your interviews lead to employment? I never heard or read anything further.

Well, the job that seems the most promising - this is what I know:
1) The staffing manager and I have built a fairly good rapport with. (He's the one who gives bad phone - he's typing or looking on the internet; although, after our first call, and when I mentioned the pauses, he's stopped for the most part.) He and I talked about the position in April, but we got busy on his looking for a new recruitment position - which I think he is still doing.
2) His assistant called me in June. She is very sweet, and we had a great interview.
3) Staffing Manager and I talked again in July, this time we were on track - had an excellent phone interview and he set up an interview with me.
4) Two days later went in for an interview - it was good, but the people were a little burnt out. They need me - took the Wonderlic test, and interviewed for close to two hours.
5) Had the recruiting manager and his assistant call me the two days after the interview to confirm that the interview had gone well. The assistant also told me my Wonderlic scores were amazing, thereby inflating my head so I couldn't walk through doors.
6) Things were slow, so the staffing manager called me again and told me they were interested.
7) I called and set them my references, just to keep the lines of communication open
8) Staffing manager called and set up a long-distance phone interview with HR Director in India.
9) Got call from guy in India, but he had severe bronchitis and was coughing up a lung on mute. When he turned off the mute, it sounded like a soundtrack for the plague. i felt bad, so I kept my answers short and was only on the phone for 45 minutes.
10) Staffing manager calls me again to tell me he thinks it went well.
11) Staffing manager calls me to tell me now the Corporate HR VP wants to have a phone interview. i mentioned that I am also getting some calls elsewhere, and staffing manager assures me that they are serious.
12) Staffing manager has my possible-future-boss call and we chat for about an hour.
13) I have an hour-long with boss, Corporate HR VP, and HR Director. All is fine, except it seems I may not have as much direct supervisory as they want. And then the VP asks me a couple Mensa questions - the first one takes me four frustrating minutes and I have to talk through it. The second one I got half-solved and I have to give up, ARGH! If I don't get this job because of mental puzzles (which I am usually fantastic at), I am going to blame them in my suicide note. I can tell you what they are, but if you solve them in 30 seconds without using the internet to look up the answer, don't tell me.
Other than that, I have been having some good first-hand interviews with people, still waiting to hear back from Fidelity, and they are supposed to be calling me back for interviews in Eustis and at the Kennedy Space Center.
