I have been trying my hardest to get in touch with an old friend from WAAAAY back in the day (yeah, the "early Duranie years") and I am at a loss as to what to do.
I've heard people have googled someone and found someone that way, but her first and last name is so common, thousands of names came up! There's no way I could go through all those! The same happened when I tried through Myspace.
I don't know how to go about narrowing her info down to make it somewhat easier. All I know about her now is her name (maiden and married), her birthday, when and where she graduated, and possibly (unless she moved) the city and state she lives in now.
Anyone know of any sites I could check out that don't want to charge $30-$50 to "get all the info you need"?? Some sites want to charge you to give you all kinds of personal records on someone (criminal records, divorce records, etc.)!! All I want is an e-mail address or a phone number or something.

you could get lucky on classmates.com. Just don't sign up for the gold membership as it's difficult to get them to stop charging for it. I have had luck googling all the ways you mentioned. first try her name and the city. you can also try her school's alumni association. try marriage announcements too.

You could also try myspace to see if she has an account. Just type in her name in the search function and it will bring up all accounts with that name.
Good luck, sweetie!

I would go for classmates. when I was 16 I stayed a year in Alabama and lived with a family there, went to school and all that. about 15 years later I somehow ended up on the classmates site. found my school and signed on. two days later I got a list of names and emails and on that I found a freind who was a senior my school year ,(I was in the junior class) a junior and one of the sisters of my family.
I would try them out, but like someone said don´t pay the gold fee. you should get enough info with out it.

I didn't pay any fees or anything, just pulled up the school she graduated from, but didn't see her there. Do you have to register on that site for people to be able to find you or is everyone who graduated automatically there?? ETA-----Also, when I did the Myspace search 9,780 results came up!!!! How in the world would I find her there without going through each one of them??

Where ya been, long time no "see"!! I'm good, sweetie. Latebar called me last night about my absence from the Duran world. LOL! How have you been? As for myspace, it also has several advanced search functions. You can look using name, location, interests, and even schools. I just recently found two old high school friends using the school search.
