As for Facebook, it's horrible for DD, all those inane "I love you" style comments, often repeatedly from a handful of individuals. It's a real turn off and why I try to avoid it - it just reflects badly on a classic band. Twitter is completely embarrassing. The hearts and 'I love You's' and 'I'm Simon's girl' items are way cringey...maybe back in the day they did - but the guys don't do anything to encourage that stuff nowadays. And who gives a rat's ass about their birthdays... And those that wish their kids Happy Birthday...well...

on one hand you have DD fans and on the other hand ,people that try to relive glimpses from their youth through the band ,by acting like teenagers which seems a little bit silly .Especially nowdays that we are almost all of us, too old to die young

As for women who give themselves surnames on social media from the band. Give me strength. I can just about understand when these were crazy besotted teenagers, but people who must be in their 40s and 50s for the most part?
I'm so glad that those types do not find their way into this sort of platform. Whilst we may have a spectrum of opinion over the band's long career, they are all valid and often well-argued opinions that has respect from others (well, for the most part!).
This place would be unreadable if it was just a succession of posts by "Mrs Tina Le Bon" professing her undying love for "Simon".

So Nick says "Invisible", Ronnie says "The Invisible" :-) Coxon's on it! Coxon is on all tracks. He recorded guitars for the entire album. But Dom will be playing the songs live unless Coxon is invited to play like they did with Nile for PO and Notorious. Most likely next year for any UK gigs? Always cool to have 2 guitars in Duran live.. funny that it will work with Andy and Warren...if egos are checked at the door..

The 40- and 50-something year old fans that behave like teens on social media are so bizarre to me. I just want good music from a band who's members are happy and healthy. I'm no more interested in their personal lives then they are in mine.

Check out the track "What You Gonna Do?" by Bastille feat. Graham Coxon. If this is anything remotely close to what DD's "rockier" tracks sound like with Mr. Coxon on board, sign me up!!!

And who gives a rat's ass about their birthdays... And those that wish their kids Happy Birthday...well... (this doesn't include all of the previous posts - but you get the drift) There are numerous different ways of being a fan, & if people are enjoying themselves & not actively harming anyone else then i really don't see why it matters?
i mean there's enough arguments & disagreement on here at times to see that we don't all think the same...
...&, as individuals, we tend to post about & comment on specific things on here to see that we have different interests as fans...
...&, i imagine, some of us will be commenting & liking all manner of things on the official social media pages - whereas i can see zero point as i don't believe for one second that the band care what i think...
...&, take the collectors corner side of the board - &, whilst i'm clearly one of those who collects & posts, for others the idea that someone in their late 40s is still collecting (mostly) legacy stuff that there wasn't the money for as a kid is, perhaps, equally sad.
(or fun - as i do enjoy finding odd things)
As to usernames - isn't at least part of that the issue of making a decision in the past?
Well, there are obviously valid reasons for using a pseudonym - but you then have to come up with something.
i mean mine goes back to trying to find something that didn't have to have numbers after on irc back in 1994 - as i had a brief period of joining people i knew afk on (particularly) a vampire chatroom - so, having run through the world of options then it ended up at PD to suggest 'a little bit evil', as opposed to anything overtly macho or sexualised or whatever...
...&, having then used it for numerous email addresses & whatnot over the years, the idea of starting again with something else would be a real hassle in terms of contacts & persona & whatnot - &, at least for myself, it would feel quite dishonest of me to pretend to be someone else online.
Okay, given a completely free rein then it's not what i would have chosen today (& certainly wasn't in the top 30-40 things back in 94) - & i don't see how it would be any different for someone who'd chosen a Duran related username in the past?
&, maybe it's just me but, much as i try to ignore threads on here that have no interest - is it actually impossible to skip over comments that are irrelevant to you on other platforms?
So yeah, live & let live imho.

Since I was 9, every time I have a tooth fall out, I put it aside for making a special necklace to send to Duran Duran. At 47 I've nearly got enough for a complete necklace, so maybe my fellow fans on here could help me decide which band member I should send it to.......
