I’m curious as to the reasoning behind this collab. This group is no where near popular so it can’t be for exposure, and it’s just not even in the ballpark of Duran sounding. It just seems like they hit shuffle on a random playlist and the first song that played they said “ let’s get this group”. Granted I will say when Kelis was announced on Man who stole a leapord all I could think about was how odd it was given her big hit was about “milkshakes” and was surprised at how I did like her contribution…..so maybe this will surprise me… Their fee was only $349😁. I can’t get Gwen Stefani’s Harajuku Girls out of my head. I liked the first track posted here, minus the vocals. Sounds like a track for a late night indie dance floor. Not so sure about the others. Love angel music baby! Who knows?

People like this? People actually stream this? Of all the great music from past decades gone, people choose this junk? ‘Ping and pong, red and black, square and circle… Ping pong you smell. From greats like Skin Trade, Rio, Planet Earth, The Chauffeur, Ordinary World, Wild Boys, Playing with Uranium (yes! It is great to me! Lol).. to playing with CHAI. Okay… prove me the f___ wrong! Playing With Uranium is as far removed from this 2001- present iteration of DD as Chai is from all of us here 😂🤣😂🤣

Hey, here's the thing. Er, no one's heard the song yet. Maybe, er, it might be OK?

Can anyone confirm if this song is on the album? I mean Chia was a no name until Whooosh for me.. could this have been recorded outside the 12 tracks or 15 for upcoming album?
I mean nothing was mentioned about this band until his show ?

Can anyone confirm if this song is on the album? I mean Chia was a no name until Whooosh for me.. could this have been recorded outside the 12 tracks or 15 for upcoming album? I mean nothing was mentioned about this band until his show ? We just know from Katy's Kafe that it will be released this week, so I presume this is the second single. That said, other than the Kafe mention, I haven't seen any teasers on social media like we did for Invisible. Another thought was perhaps it is a Chai song that features Simon but their album came out in May and there's no Simon on there. And Katy's question about how DD will perform it live definitely suggests its a DD song.

I can't wait to hear any new music by DD - it's an exciting time right now that I hope the fan community can embrace in a positive fashion. That doesn't mean everyone will or should like everything - if that was the case then there'd be no meaningful discussion and it wouldn't be fun at all!
Reserving judgment until I hear the song, which I hope will be very, very soon...

Hey, here's the thing. Er, no one's heard the song yet. Maybe, er, it might be OK? Agree. It’s not a collaboration I would expect, but I’m curious, not dismissive. CHAI's style may not be to everyone’s taste, but some enjoy clever, silly music, and Japanese groups can be like that. Cibo Matto, Cornelius, Shonen Knife are among those that crossed over. Also, I might remind everyone that early in DD’s career they often mentioned Yellow Magic Orchestra as an influence.
