LONDON -- John Lennon is making his debut on iTunes, starting today (Aug. 14). With the blessing of Yoko Ono, EMI has struck a deal to make 16 of Lennon’s solo albums available for the first time via Apple’s download site.
"John would have loved the fact that his music will now be available in a format suited to a new generation of listeners," Ono commented.
Apple CEO Steve Jobs said, "John Lennon is one of the greatest artists of our time. We’re thrilled to have his solo catalog available on the iTunes store for the first time."
Among the albums being offered via iTunes are four collections -- "Lennon Legend," "Acoustic," "Anthology" and "Working Class Hero" -- plus "John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band," "Sometime in New York City," "Walls and Bridges" and "Milk and Honey."

rob: Great points. I agree. I love arena but it’s just not the same as a live show. I understand why but there’s no reason why they can’t offer an alternative.
