so.. my morning started off interesting...

....had to have the POLICE come to my house this morning. some SCHMUCK decided to break into my car (a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo) overnight. i even had a detective come in and take fingerprints...cause there were some spots on the outside of the door that looked as if whoever was in the car left behind a clue or two - unfortunately, the prints were smudged. so who knows if anything'll come of those.

whoever broke in didn't take anything...and they didn't even bother to break into the glove compartment to get at the registration. all they did was pop the driver's side door - and left it slightly ajar, i found it open when i went out to get in it to go to work - and root through the console in the center between the front seats. they took out the car's manual and whatever was in the bucket and left it all on the passenger seat... they even opened the ash tray.... yes, the car does have an alarm, but they apparently whoever it was was able to get past that to get in. even the guy at the gas station (had to stop there on my way to work to fill a tire that was going low) said he could break into my car without setting off the alarm, cause it's an older model car.

my neighbor across the street (who's deaf in both ears, but does hear or is aware of sounds...especially at odd times of the night) came out this morning while the police were there and said that he heard noises outside in front of my house around 3:30 am....in which would make sense.... (and i'm going to kick my dog's ass for not acting like a complete lunatic and waking the whole house up at that time of the morning.....he's usually a very good watchdog! LOL)

mind you, i NEVER leave anything expensive in my car.....

but...i feel so violated now. and i'm mad.... cause damnIT, that's my baby they're messing with!!!!

What a way to start your day! Maybe the police will get lucky with the fingerprints, and find the bas*ard that did it. My house was broken into several years ago, " violated" is exactly how you feel. I found that giving the house a total scrub down, better locks, and some time made me feel somewhat better. I hope that you are okay soon.

This makes me so mad! When people mess up and or take what isn't theirs! UGH!
Well, I'm glad they didn't take your car all together. I keep my baby in the garage now days. I trust NO ONE!

BUT, i'd like to kick some police ass right about now. the 2nd officer that came to my house this moring had the NERVE to say that my car doors were unlocked......

um....DUMBASS, why would there be scratches in three different places near the driver's door....AND why would there be HUGE scrape marks on the inside of the door frame??? **is so mad she's about to SPIT NAILS** f___ing little moron (and i COULD kick his ass, cause the top of his head only came up to my chin).... he has no business being in a police uniform!!!

i was told by my co-workers that i should report this to my insurance company as well. i'll have to see about getting a police report first before doing so....but, i'm definitely going to report this to them as well....




wow....i never thought finding "new evidence" of a car break-in could feel so good......
not that i'm happy about it. i just like proving the authorities WRONG.....

I'm so sorry about your car..

Like eeyoresmiles I know what it feels to have our appartment broken into. I know how it felt to have the police phone me at work while they stood in my livingroom when someone else in the building reported the break-in. They also remembered where I worked.. The only thing I was worried was our 3 cats. They turned out to be fine.

I hope you feel safe in your car and home after this is all said and done with the police and insurance.

These people make me sick. They think they can take things other people have earned as if it's their right to do so just b/c they can't be bothered to earn a living.

Ugh! My best freind refused to have security put into her condo when she moved in, and three weeks ago, someone broke in and stole all the jewelry they could get their hands on. About $4000. They left the umbrella and do-rag, but no finger-prints - assumably, they wiped off their fingerprints with the do-rag.

Ugh - I had to reschedule a job interview, cuz she woke me up at 11:45 - crying and scared. She's one of those people you have to spend hours talking into a logical, level-headed approach to any problem. This one being major, we were up till 3am. She stayed over at my place.

I was able to reschedule the interview, and her place is like mine now - a very loud Fort Knox-like alarm system.

The fucker is the neighbors were here in their condos, but they didn't hear or see anything - even with the broken glass. Well, I'd like to see them ignore the alarms now - they're at the legal limit for alarm systems, which I think is 110db.
