Wish I had one to share, but all your stories have made my day. We need such sunshine in the depths of winter.

Very heartwarming stories. On two occasions I've been in the situation where a young person in front of me checking out was short a few bucks for their purchases and I was happy to be able to help them. It was only a few dollars each time, but the kids seemed genuinely grateful and surprised that I was willing to help. I've also had the pleasant surprise of driving up to a toll booth on the Golden Gate Bridge to have my toll already paid.

These are wonderful stories. It is nice to know that there are some caring people still out there.

I have one about my sister and brother-in-law.First let me tell you they are great people and I love them so much.A few years ago a couple young men broke down in front of my parents house. They asked to use the phone to call their parents. They were on there way to meet them at Virginia Beach which is about 7 hours away from here .My brother-in-law stopped by on his way home from work and looked at their car(he works on cars in his spare time). He found out what was wrong but it was Sunday and he had to wait until Monday to get the part.He took the boys home with him and they let them stay at their house overnight. The next morning he fixed their car and they got on their way.He didn't even charge them for the part or to fix the car. They have 2 boys theirselves and said they just hope that if their sons were ever in that situation they would hope someone would take care of them.Did I say how much I love my sister and brother-in-law.I strive to be more like them.

One time I was on my way home over the Bay Bridge into San Francisco. Some total jerk completely cut me off and I had to slam on my brakes to avoid hitting him. When I got up to the toll plaza, the clerk told me that the person ahead of my had already paid my toll. I guess he knew he was a jerk and wanted to make up for it. Too bad we have More JERKS then, Nice people. Well at least he paid for your $3.00 toll, where is he now since its $4.00? lol

I hope you dont mind my sharing this story with you all as my first posting.
Many years ago when my children were young, I had went to our local Woolworths to buy their Easter eggs (it was about 4 days till Easter). My husband is disabled and we had just collected his fortnightly benefits that morning. I picked the eggs and was being served when to my horror, I realised my purse had been stolen from my handbag with absolutely everything I had in it. I wasnt even left with my bus fare home. I was really upset as you can imagine and was putting the eggs back on the shelf when an elderly gentleman pushed a £20.00 note into my hand and insisted I keep it! I have never forgotten him and his kindness that day and it restored my faith in human beings.

Very nice stories. Thanks for sharing. In 1984 my dad got run over by a truck. He was a mechanic at a local potato chip factory. He was fixing the truck and it ran him over. He had to spend a month in the hospital. Two of our neighbors came over when he got home. Didn't think much of it at first. They always came by. The one neighbor handed my dad a case of beer. He told my dad to look inside. In it was several hundred dollar bills. He had won a huge tv. Instead of taking the tv for himself he sold it so he could give the money to my dad. The other neighbor (who was the son of the owner) did a raffle so they could raise money for my dad. I always thought that was so cool.

I was at a special service that was heart-wrenching for me (and for many others in attendance...all strangers to each other), and I was crying as silently and as inconspicuously as possible in my seat. When the service was over, a woman at the end of the row and just behind me put her hand on my shoulder. As I turned, she hugged me and I leaned into her arms. She whispered, "Everything will be ok."
I still remember what she looked like, I still remember her voice, her perfume, and she was my angel that day.

My favorite random act of kindness ~ in 1978 my father and his second cousins were in a involved in serious hit and run accident (found out later it was large Davey Tree truck hit them). The car flipped several times throwing out all the passengers except my father. Most of them ended up in critial condition, they all pulled through and survived the accident. My parents didn't have any insurance, so all our money went toward medical bills.
Since this happened before Christmas, I believed our Christmas present was my daddy surviving the accident. After the news about the incident, something miraculous happened. We begin to find warm meals sitting at our door step and money appearing in our mailbox. Even though all our relatives made sure we would have Christmas presents on under the tree, sitting outside our doorstep Christmas day was two brand new bikes for me and sis. We never found out who left all the nice gifts, I think it was because my father always did wonderful things for others.

I remember when I was at work an elderly man approached me with a rose and said I looked like I could use one. As a result of the random act of kindness, I will never forget how he helped me have a better day.
