I'm going to be in San Antonio for the first time March 18-22nd for a work conference. Any ideas of must see locations would be much appreciated. (I know I have to see the Alamo.)
I've never been to Austin so when our conference wraps up on Wednesday I'm going to drive over & spend the day. I'm very excited about that.

Isn't it snowing in San Antonio? HAHAHAAH!! THAT'S FUNNY!!!!
Anywho......
@ KAHLUA--Well it lasts 10 days. in the beginning you have the 2 day event of St. Mary's Oyster Bake and Taste Of New Orleans. There is NIOSA(Night In Old San Antonio) that runs during the week(tues-fri). Monday Night is the River Parade while the Battle of Flowers is on Friday afternoon and the Flambeau is on Sat night. The carnival runs from Wed before Fiesta starts till the last Sun. and so does the El Mercado celebration.
I personally like to go during the last weekend of Fiesta. So much fun to be had.
Here's the website for Fiesta so that you can see a day by day synopis of events: www.fiesta-sa.org/
KimK: Hey there...Where would u might be staying at while in SA? Downtown SA or near the airport? That way I can help ya exactly where to go.
Of course there is the Alamo, the Riverwalk, and the Tower of The Americas.
Here's the visitor's bureau for SA: www.sanantoniocvb.com/
Austin is just an hour or so drive from SA. I used to go up there quite bit a few yrs ago--so let me know what u want to see. Keep this in mind.....get off the 6th street exit to go up that famous club street. U can go up Congress St. as well starting from South Austin.
Here's the cvb site for Austin: www.austintexas.org/
