As the band get older, residencies will surely become part of their schedule.
It be great for them to do it but based on the stories of the U2 residency, 24k visuals do not come cheap. With all technology, prices will come down as it becomes more common.
How about a 2025 Reportage Residency? Andy makes guest appearances. Every night has a different setlist. All after they've headlined Glastonbury.
We can live in hope.

I can absolutely see a DD residency at the Sphere in the near future. Highly visual band with proven live track record and dedicated fan base. This is an incredibly expensive venue and they will need to keep it filled.
DD could also pull a sizable international audience to Vegas with a run at the Sphere, something that I don't think a jam band like Phish can do (Outside US forum members please feel free to correct me. I feel like the Dead, Phish, DMB, etc are a US phenomenon and don't play well overseas).
I loathe that city but I would plan a trip to Vegas for DD at that venue.

I wonder...does the Sphere seek out bands to play there or do bands reach out to the Sphere? I'm guessing its the former, so DD may not have a say in the matter unless/until they're invited.
