ABSTRCT THOUGHTS First..with the revelations provided by The Wrecking Crew (Netflix documentary) that most of the 60’s and 70’s artists didn’t play their own instruments in the recording studio and that the new generation of artists (80’s bands) weren’t adhering to this record label manufactured music approach (probably resulting in the majority of the industry push back against “New Wave”)…and with the revelations provided by Mike Williams/Sage of Quay (YouTube and Rumble) that extensively documents the very possibility that even The Beatles (other favorite all time band) didn’t play their instruments in the recording studio or could not write the amount of songs in very short order to produce so many albums during most of their career (consistent with above)…could it be that our favorite imperfect pop/rock band was actually the most perfect in retrospect: Duran Duran? It can argued that the answer is yes. They wrote, recorded and performed their actual original music imperfectly at times but perfectly most of the time!
FOR FUN WITH JUSTIFICATION With this premise, who is best suited to reimagine an updated Barbarella movie score other than the Fab 5? Or new Fab4 other than Duran Duran who based its name on this movie and have multiple Barbarella songs (including The Devils)? We know that the new production slated with the latest Hollywood darling, Sydney Sweeney, is to play Barbarella in the new remake.
So in an Ordinary World or in our unordinary world…why not have our RRHF megastars record a proper disco stumper for the new ages we must ask? As they may be the most influential actual artists of their time in retrospect with such intimate connections to the original Jane Fonda project?
F—- the BS producer driven industry, this would be appropriate! Sent just for fun with hopes for its consideration.

I’m not sure about your argument, but I’d be thrilled if DD are featured in the film one way or the other. And depending on the film’s tone, I might be disappointed if they’re not!

I’d love to see Dr Durand Durand’s name change to Dr Duran Duran Umm, if they’re gonna modernise the original movie 🎥 modernise it then !

The line "Have you ever heard of the name Durand Durand?' is going to confuse the hell out a lot of people this time! 🤣
It's inconceivable that Duran are not involved in this film, particularly the amount of times they are mentioned.
Having never watched the full film, any time I watch the video clips on YouTube etc, I can't stop thinking I'm watching Arena, or waiting for the (Wild boys) drums intro after hearing "Barbarella?" "Mr. President....." 🤣 Arena, as infuriating as it can be, was nicely scattered with clips of Barbarella. Given that Duran were only known to the public for 3 years at that time, it was a good marketing ploy to include the clips. People watching Barbarella were always going to have the discussion "Ah. That's where Duran Duran got their name "etc
Burning the ground is a fantastic piece of music too.

As it reminds of Arena and Burning the Ground videos, it’s definitely worth the watch…

The original Barbarella is the sort of film I'd love in a "cult classic" kinda way, although it's impossible to judge without the linkage to DD because that's what brought me to it.

They'll probably turn the doctor into a black woman and name her Dr. Beyonce Beyonced.

They'll probably turn the doctor into a black woman and name her Dr. Beyonce Beyonced. 😉 Totally agree!! You forgot to add, that apart from being a black woman, she would be bisexual, sexually dominant, rich and CEO of a large company, sexually harassed at some distant point in her youth by a powerful man whose abuse she could not prove. And of course, leader of the WOKE movement. In reality, Barbarella is one of the first WOKE movies in history: Barbarella, a young and beautiful woman, with a gay friend, the blind angel Pigar, is used as a sexual object by the heteropatriarchy, Dr. Durand Durand and his Orgasmatron.

Yes, The Orgasmatron…surprised if it hasn’t been patented and mass produced
