Another bad single choice, eager to break new ground had priority over a better song Wish they had the same courage to do so with Nite-Runner instead of Falling Down back then.

Another bad single choice, eager to break new ground had priority over a better song Was it a bad single choice? It's their most streamed song from the last 30 years. May never have caught the MGS wave had it not been given some attention from the band.

ANNIVERSARY should had been released as lead single, but well done, bringing song & video together on a premiere … Then, if you like INVISIBLE (which was released totally out of time, neither related with the album, nor related with FIVE YEARS)

Part of their reasoning with not picking the party songs was because they didn't feel comfortable coming out with a party song in that social and political climate. It's also hard to argue they backed the wrong horse (like Falling Down) when Invisible has more daily listeners than almost everything else in their back catalogue. Maybe making Anniversary the lead single wouldn't have got them that viral moment with Metal Gear Solid? Hard to argue the singles were "badly managed" when they enjoyed the biggest streaming success ever with the lead one 🤷♂️

I think it was a great choice for a single. Very bold actually. Now only releasing 1 video when said video is nightmare fuel created by AI? That might not have been the best choice.

Interesting notion about the video. I, too, LOVE the song. One of my very favourites of theirs, actually - and "Bold" is a great term to use for it. I remember seeing the "Coming Soon" image on the webpage - waiting for the video launch and thinking "what the hell is this?"

I actually like “ Invisible “ quite a bit except for the cheesy, unnecessary whispers of the word invisible in the introduction

I loved Invisible, but it feels a bit isolated on the album - I wish it had at least another track similar in tone or arrangement. I also wish they'd stretch it a bit longer for the album. And also, they should have put Velvet Newton before it.
