Hey everyone. I have a beagle too and he is coming down of a 4 week course of Prednisone for his back. Anyway, he has had HORRIBLE gas the entire time and we assumed that it was due to the meds and would go away. Well he has been off the meds completely for a week and it is still vicious! CAn anyone comment on this? Does anyone know why we are being plagued?

I have no advice and no beagle. However, I really want a dog and am thinking about a beagle, among other breeds. My sister says I'm nuts to even consider a beagle. What say you?

I've met some lovely beagles and some obnoxious beagles. The most obnoxious one was owned by a self-proclaimed '* hunter. Basically the dog used to range around in our back woods cowering ra*s in trees and howling like we were 3 days out from the apocalypse. But Snoopy be good iami

did you change his diet in any way? Maybe he still has the effects of the meds still going through his system.

@ivy--i think my beagle is the best dog every. They are the most abandoned dog at local pounds and rescues because people dont understand then before they buy. I strongly recommend a rescue beagle. The rescue staff will be sure to tell you everything you need to know about a dog because they dont' want you to bring the dog back. Beagles can be very stubborn and hard to potty train but once they are it sticks! PLUS if you get an adult dog you will know what size he'll be since both the small and large varieties can come from the same litter. I love our beagle he is so sweet and loving!

I have a beagle. She's a loud little thing and thinks she runs this house. She doesn't have any gas problems. I would say change the dog's diet and maybe take it for walks. Maybe during the walk, they can toot and it won't be so bad once it's home.

I don't personally have a dog, but I told my good friend about your problem who DOES have a Beagle who has had problem after problem after problem so she's pretty well versed in Beagle-dom.
She suggested you change the dog's diet. She had to try several different options for her dog.
Good luck!
