R.I.P. Barbaro I watched the race when he broke down. That was heart-wrenching. Horse are such beautiful creatures but their legs are so fragile. I used to have a very good friend who taught me all the wonders of horses. I don't believe the horse racing industry is bad, maybe some of the individuals are but I am sure that Barbaro got the VERY best care from the start. I think racing seems cruel to the outside world, but really, the horses are just doing what they were born to do. Run.

I have to agree w/ everyone here. I saw that race the day he broke his foot. he was such a beautiful horse. I have the movie Seabiscuit on DVD & I have the book too. I love animals very much namely horses. he was doing so well & to hear that is so heart breaking. he'll be missed very much. JT

that is soo sad to see an animal die. but if he was gonna be in pain and die anyways, better to have him put down.
