I have come to the conclusion that I will never be able to hold a job that I like. After starting as a daycare teacher within a week I caught something one or more of the kids had. I figured no big deal, went in for a physical and the doctor gave me antibiotics. I started to get better. GREAT!
Fast forward to Thanksgiving. I went to my Mom's at 10:30 AM to help her set things up. I was tired and still didn't feel all that great but not as bad as I did 3 or 4 days before. Came home that night and was praying someone would shoot me. I spent the night vomiting and with a high fever. I can't talk because when I do it sends me into a violent coughing spell. When I do say something you can't understand me due to the laryngitis.
I have been sick now 13 days and it only seems to be getting worse. I hate that I have to go back to work in the morning. I'll never make it. But it says in the paper work I got that I am not allowed to call off for the 1st 90 days or they can fire me. I have to get back to the doctor though. I am having a hard time breathing and need to see him. I'd go to urgent care, but the last time I went with breathing problems they told me it was indigestion. Turns out I had phenomena.
Sorry for complaining I am just sick and tired of being sick and tired.

goodness! have you been back to see your Dr.?
I had a violent vomiting spell a few months ago it took me three days to get back in top order.
I hope you recover soon. meanwhile, rest & take care of yourself.

I just got home from the dr's. I am off of work for at least 2 more days. Bummer He said that I have a small phenomena (that's how he said it) in the bottom of my right lung. He gave me a breathing treatment (I usually can tell when I need one) along with new antibiotics and a z pac. I just hope that I feel better soon.

Hope you feel better soon! Hopefully your employer understands and doesn't give you a hard time about the sick days... after all, you wouldn't want to pass the illness onto those little kiddies.

i don't know why a school would want a sick teacher to come back to work, despite the 90 day rule. i know i'd be ticked if i was a parent.
hang in there. the first year of teaching is always the worst! there also seems to be something particularly nasty in the air this winter. all of my kids and all of their parents got really sick this month. most of the parents ended up with sinus infections and one with pneumonia.
*whispers*
but i haven't gotten sick yet!
*looks around for fate being tempted*
if you don't already, take vitamin c on a regular basis. it really helps.

pneumonia can kill. they'd have to be just plain stupid to hold you to the 90 day rule with that in your lungs

Aw, I hope you feel better soon! I can sympathize, as I have been sick for the last few days. Not the least bit pleasant. Tis the season to be ill.
