That 67 year old woman was selfish. She was thinking only about her own desires, and not thinking long-term about how life would be for the children.
As much as we would all like to believe that we are invinceable and will live forever, the reality is we are mortal. What's the average life expenctancy for women in Spain? I don't know, but a guess would be somewhere in the mid-70s... and she's not that far from that age range. How are her young kids going to feel if/when they lose their mother? And she says she's looking for a younger man to marry and be their father??? I hope she has a better plan than that for their future care.

you are never too old, and never too young to have a babyI would have to disagree with that statement. Is a child/young girl of 12 old enough to have a child?? Jesus YEs if you manipulate the phrase in such way yes, it sounds awful and I sound sick... I also disagrre as well, but if you left the context im wich I said that is not how you make it sound! "you are never too old, and never too young to have a baby, any age babies change your world 180º"And babies are for woman to have them, not to kids playing to be parents! Anyone with a little bit of brains should get my point without that extreme!

I'd like to have one more baby, and Im 37. *shrug* Im no doctor but Ive read that risks increase after the age of 35 - but I believe that is a general statement and that each individual's health and fitness level must factor into the stat's somewhere.

If a woman in her late 40's can concieve naturally, then God bless, go to, and I wish her and the baby the best of health and luck. I would have no problem with women in their early 40s having fertility treatment such as IVF either. They're still young enough to raise kids.
These women in their 50s and 60s having treatment to conceive is abhorrent. It's vanity, pure and simple. They want a baby, so they have a baby and damn the consequences. Young nannies are hired to do the donkey work that knackers most mothers in their 20's and 30's and the likelyhood is that the child will be orphaned as a teenager due to "mommy's" advanced years. But mommy gets to sell her story to the newspapers and gets in the Guinness book of Records so her legacy is preserved. It's a completely different situation to Grandparents rearing their grandchildren as their own. They've been there, done that and it keeps the family bond together. It's done out of necessity and love, not out of vanity.
My mum was a child minder for years. She retired in her early 60s because she no longer had the energy and patience to deal with preschool kids. And that was only for a few hours during the day, not a full time 24/7 gig. She'll babysit her grandsons at the drop of a hat, but after a couple of days, she's exhausted and this is with support from Grandad and then Dotie Auntie (ie me) helping out after work.
Children aren't an accessory. And if your body has decided that it's too old, then let it be. Biology works like that for a reason.

not for me thanks!
well, a friend of mine whom is '36' is about to give birth any minute and yesterday, she told us that it wasn't an easy thing to go through at her age... on the other hand, my mum gave me a birth when she was '38' and she always says that it was an easy pregnancy, not to mention that I was born premature!
