they moved all the kids from the high school and middle school to the college and one of the churches. No one is allowed to go any where near the schools or the church.
FBI has been called in and seeing as I am in a little town they have to come from a bigger city. And to top it off the elementary school had a bomb threat Friday evening.
No phone calls no going there to pick them up. My girls have never been through anything like this so I am wondering how they are feeling.
I'm so glad I moved to a little town (being scarastic). Now the fire horn is going off.
The kids have been in lock down for 4 hours now.
I just need some comfort thats all Just waiting for the phone to ring for any information.

I hate hearing about this sort of thing. It happens way to much these days.
Although it will be unfamiliar to the girls I'm sure they'll do just fine. Kids (unless something actually happens) seem to just go with the flow.
Good to talk about their feelings once you guys are back together this evening.
Keep us posted!

thanks Carrie. I'll let you know when I know something.
It seems that until the building has been cleared by the FBI the kids cant even go home.

I don't get "lock downs"---if there's a freakin' bomb in the school, why do you "lock" the kids in them?
I mean, I can understand no parents coming to pick the kids up--so you walk the kids OUT of the school to a place away from the school (parking lot?) and have a nice, pretty, neatified little roster of who can/can't come get the kids... you close down the main road nearest the school and line the parents cars up on it..
and one by one you start doling kids out...
but locking them inside a building that has been threatened by a bomb?
stooopid...

I'm really sorry to hear that. In a "little" town non the less. I live in a so called "good" area and a kid was stabbed friday(he's ok) at the "good" highschool. We homeschool our 3 kids(7th,5th and k/1st) .Yup, one of those CRAZY families. I do hope everythings OK.
