I agree, the baby probably would not have survived, no matter what. But her own health was being endangered also. Hardly worth it for what started out to be a routine traffic stop.
We've also had an inordinate amount of child abuse related deaths in this city over the past decade, so that may have been why the cops overreacted (the child mistreatment charges). Still doesn't excuse it though.
