Life in the late 70's & early 80's......
1. You wore a rainbow shirt that was half-sleeves, and the rainbow went up one sleeve, across your chest, and down the other. Yes! AND I wore a Garfield pin on it!
2. You made baby chocolate cakes in your Easy Bake Oven and washed them down with snow cones from your Snoopy Snow Cone Machine. See mom let me (with help) use the real oven & dad said the Snoopy Snow cone thing was to messy.
3. You had that Fisher Price Doctor's Kit with a stethoscope that actually worked. Yes, and I'm totally def to this day! thankyouverymuch!
4. You owned a bicycle with a banana seat and a plastic basket with flowers on it. Actually, I had two older brothers (10 & 11 years older) they thought it would be cool to turn my cute bike into a low rider bike, I'll find pictures to show you, I cried. They never did change it back.....b@stards!
5. You learned to skate with actual skates (not roller blades) that had metal wheels. They made the best noise up and down the driveway!
6. You thought Gopher from Love Boat was cute (admit it!) Was there another reason to watch that show?
7. You had nightmares after watching Fantasy Island. Not really, I had FANTASIES.....meeeeow!
8. You had rubber boots for rainy days and Moon boots for snowy days. DUDE! I grew up in San Jose, California. We didn't have enough of either to require rubber and or moon boots. It snowed ONCE when I was like 4 and it was gone by dinner time.
9. You had either a "bowl cut" or "pixie," not to mention the "Dorothy Hamill" because your Mom was sick of braiding your hair. People sometimes thought you were a boy. Not I. Nope my mom was all about the Shag baby.
10. Your Holly Hobbie sleeping bag was your most prized possession. I had a ROOM of Holly Hobbie oh and a watch! Wish I had that watch now....ebaaaay!
11. You wore a poncho, gauchos, and knickers. I had blue knickers and burgundy cord gauchos.
12. You begged Santa for the electronic game, Simon. Yeah, I begged for Simon to play games with me....does that count?
13. You had the Donnie and Marie dolls with those pink and purple satiny shredded outfits. No but my best friend did and we undressed Donny and made him make out with our Mrs. Heart doll....Barbie town house scandal!
14. You spent hours in your backyard on your metal swing set with the trapeze. The swing set tipped over at least once. When my brother didn't use it to paint bicycles.
15. You had homemade ribbon barrettes in every imaginable color. I remember having yellow & white and blue & white. Never could figure out how to make those dang things.
16. You had a pair of Doctor Scholl's sandals (the ones with hard sole & the buckle). You also had a pair of salt-water sandals. OMG! and it hurt like crazy when your foot slipped and the back hit you in the middle of your foot!
17. You wanted to be Laura Ingalls Wilder really bad; you wore that Little House on the Prairie-inspired plaid, ruffle shirt with the high neck in at least one school picture; and you despised Nellie Olson! Oh how I do love Gunny Sack!
18. You wanted your first kiss to be at a roller rink. Okay.....I would have just been happy to have a boy hold my hand on the slow song...
19. Your hairstyle was described as having "wings" or "feathers" and you kept it "pretty" with the comb you kept in your back pocket. The comb yes, BUT, I have naturally curly hair you cannot get "wings" with naturally curly hair. But thanks for bringing back what years of therapy had helped to suppress.
20. It was a big event in your household each year when the "Wizard of Oz" would come on TV. Your mom would break out the popcorn and sleeping bags! No, but when Creature Feature came on it was every man for himself!
21. You tried to do lots of arts and crafts, like yarn and Popsicle-stick God's eyes, decoupage, or those weird potholders m! ade on a plastic loom. Pot holders - I believe they were called loom loopers". To no avail.
22. You made Shrinky-Dinks and put iron-on kittens on your t-shirts! Again, I was all about Garfield!
23. You used to tape record songs off the radio by holding your portable tape player up to the speaker. Would you believe me if I told you I still did? Yeah didn't think so.....but you don't get the same feel for the song, I mean with mom yelling something about feeding the dog in the background and all.
24. You couldn't wait to get the free animal poster that came when you ordered books from the Weekly Reader book club. Double score if it was a teddy bear dressed in clothing. Zaaaang!
25. You learned everything you needed to know about girl issues from Judy Blume books (Are you there God, It's me, Margaret.) And so did my kids. Is that wrong?
26. You thought Olivia ! Newton John's song "Physical" was about aerobics. It's not?
27. You wore friendship pins on your tennis shoes, or shoelaces with heart or rainbow designs. I totally taught my girls how to make those and tried to bring them back....didn't work....
28.You wanted to be a Solid Gold dancer. Oh but I am!
29. You had a Big Wheel with a brake on the side, and a Sit-n-Spin. AND I'd turn it upside down and make the neighbor hoods best ice cream!
30. You had subscriptions to Dynamite and Tiger Beat. No. But I'd go and take the good pics out at the store and put them all in one and buy it. oh yeah...that was me.
31. You spent all your allowance on smurfs and stickers for your sticker album! Each type of sticker had it's very own section. I was so dang organized back then, what happened?

Love it!!! Almost every single thing on that list pertained to me.
I remember I left my Simon game in the back of my dad's car. Someone broke into his car and stole it!!!!! Along with my dad's leather jacket and some tapes (8 track, of course).

12. You begged Santa for the electronic game, Simon. I got it one year. Actually I got two variations one year. That was cool.
13. You had the Donnie and Marie dolls with those pink and purple satiny shredded outfits. Yes I did. In fact on vacation in Colorado I decided to have Marie swim. She floated away. I got another Marie doll a week later

2. You made baby chocolate cakes in your Easy Bake Oven and washed them down with snow cones from your Snoopy Snow Cone Machine. Yes! I owned the easy bake oven and sis had the Snoopy Snow Cone machine. I bought sis a vintage Snoopy snow cone machine (partly a joke) now her kids can enjoy.
3. You had that Fisher Price Doctor's Kit with a stethoscope that actually worked. Nope, though I played Doctors.....*wink*
4. You owned a bicycle with a banana seat and a plastic basket with flowers on it. Definitely!! my bike was purple with a glitterly banana seat, it rocked!!

10. Your Holly Hobbie sleeping bag was your most prized possession. I was a tad to old for Holly Hobbie and I didn' t like her anyway. Strawberry Shortcake is cuter.
11. You wore a poncho, gauchos, and knickers. I loved ponchos and gauchos!!!! 12. You begged Santa for the electronic game, Simon. NOPE! I thought it was stupid. Actually my cousin got one for Xmas and I got in trouble for speaking my mind....lol.
