Hi all,
I was in the chatroom the other night and we all seemed to think it would be neat if it had a cool name, like Central Perk or Starbucks - you get the idea.
Well, I asked Mark and he said it would be OK for us to come up with another name, so - anyone have any suggestions? The ones we came up with in the chatroom were:
The Duran Bunch
Duran Den
Sing Blue Silver Room (it's blue and silver)
Icehaus
Chat Blue Silver
Blue Silver Hub
The Nightboat
Big Chat Thing
Silver Stairway
Duran Cup o' Mud
Crime and Passion
Anybody? (fellow chatters, if I left one off feel free to add it!!) Something Duran related would be cool...

Sarah, I think that's a great idea. All those names sound good. I like the blue silver ones best......since there have been SBS gatherings and that was such a impactful video for us all. And I, personally, also love the Chauffeur (in case you didn't notice already  ) ***a question about chat...I am a chat room virgin. Never been in one. I clicked on the coffee cup, but then when it asked me write something before I entered I chickened out. It takes me a while to do new things........so, would someone kindly explain simply what a chat room is like and what is the proper etiquette? |

let's see .... ~chat7609 ~rumrunnerchat (the main 'con' to that one is, of course, that there's already a member who goes by rumrunner, but i like the connotation) of the ones already posted, i like the 'blue silver' ones ... i haven't been in the chat room yet, but i have a feeling i'll pop in and check it out soon  |

Good question! A chat room is a place where people can 'talk' to each other (type sentences) in real time. So, for instance, if you and I were in a chat room I would type "Hi", hit return and you'd see the message in the chat room box instantly. You can then type "Hello!", hit return and that word would pop up in the chat room box a moment later.
It's sort of like a real-time message board, and all the standard rules of etiquette apply: don't flame, don't be rude, etc.
There aren't a lot of us chatting at the moment but my hope is that someone will organize weekly chats and we'll all be able to get together at one time or another and just say howdy. It really is a lot of fun! And I'm glad we have a chat room, that's one thing the old board didn't have!!
