Okay, So Maybe I'm a bit out of control...
As a young Durannie, I was like many of you...
I had my walls covered in every poster/picture/magazine clipping That I could find. I would remain in my lair for hours at a time, listening to music, mooning over my photos...
My father hated the idea, and we argued constantly. Come to think of it, we didn't have much of a relationship at all those days!
My mom, tolerated my "obsession" and just tried to keep the peace.
My prized posession was this large poster of Simon. To me, he was the most beautiful man in the world. I loved that poster. I think I even kissed it everyday as I left the lair for school or to go downstairs for dinner, or before I hung out with my friends...
One night, my father called me downstairs, and I told him I didn't want to. It was the last straw. He came into my room and tore down all of the photo's on my wall, ripping my favorite poster in 3 pieces. I was broken hearted!
It was the only time in my life, that my father ever apologized to me.
So, last night, I was organizing all of the stuff we shared before the death of the DD board, and when that was done, I went online to peruse the DD links to see if I could find more, and there it was:
I couldn't believe it!!! I nearly cried.
I wish it were larger, but to have a copy, really made the little 13 year old in me smile once again. I never imagined it would mean that much to me 20+ years later!
Enjoy the pic. It was taken in 1982.
Anyone else have full-circle moments to share?
