I love cupcakes . . . and I would probably give them a try even at $2.50. I know, I know . . . very frivolous!

You know, I'm convinced that you can sell any kind of food if your marketing is right. I mean, one time I was thinking, you could open a place that sold nothing but PB&J and as long as you had it somewhere "hip" say Rodeo Drive, you could make some buck. There was a place near some college that sold cereal, all different kinds, and dude made a killing!

ultimatemind -- I'm with you on the Hostess Outlet store. I wish I had a stand-alone freezer so I can fill it up with cheap bread and Hostess/Dolly Madison goodies.

Wandered into store in Boston called "Johnny Cupcakes" after dinner on Newbury street... v. sad not to find cupcakes but skater girl t-shirts retailing at $40 each. False advertising. Boo.

DC has CakeLove which some people LOVE at $3 a cupcake. They have some interesting sounding flavor combinations but I think Duncan Hines and Betty Crocker are just as better. I do like their mango filled eclaire creations. Mmmmmm...Warren Brown of Cake Love is the master. I go to his shop on U St and the one in downtown Silver Spring, MD quite often. I love, love, love Cake Love. www.cakelove.com/My faves are amaretto, and dark choclate. It's worth every single penny. ;D I'm stopping by the Silver Spring location before our dinner next week.

www.dozencupcakes.com/A friend sent me this link and I just had to share. $2.50 each or $25 a dozen. I think I'll hit up Betty Crocker before I would buy from here. Interesting comment on society though...we'll buy anything for any price. no...no..no. That was my idea!! I'm always a day late and a dollar short. My store would be called cupcake. My slogan, where everyone deserves a cupcake. I even planned out cute merchandise (tshirts, purses, etc.) with cute cupcake motifs. I also thought of a plan called the birthday cupcake club, it would be a gift card you purchased for a friend. The recipient would come in once each month to pick up one cupcake. Hmm, maybe I shouldn't be doling out my ideas online....lol. All of this is documented in a marketing plan dated Sept 2000. edited 'cause I can't spell.
