Between Sienna Miller's highly visible control pants and Meredith Ostrom's cutaway gown, I didn't know quite where to look as I was sandwiched between the two women in the cramped basement nightclub space of New York's Chelsea Hotel.
Actually, I knew precisely where to look = and there was much to see.
We were at the post-premiere party for Factory Girl, in which Sienna gives a moving portrayal of Edie Sedgwick, who was Andy Warhol's muse in the 1960s.
The film is a cautionary tale about a young woman who couldn't handle her 15 minutes of fame.
Ms Ostrom has a small role as Nico, another of Warhol's stable of so-called 'Superstars' who went on to sing with the Velvet Underground.
Ms Ostrom, 29, is an American who lives in London where, she told me, she'll be making a film called Boogie Woogie soon.
Gillian Anderson is in talks to star in the movie about the London and New York art worlds.
Ms Ostrom seemed to be telling me lots of other things, but it was noisier than a North London derby in that tawdry basement.
