From Variety.com
The Police --Sting, Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers -- will be holding a press conference Monday with concert promoter Live Nation to announce plans to commemorate the band's 30th anniversary.
The trio, which broke up after a 1984 tour, is expected to launch a significant tour this year. It will be the third major reunion tour announcement this year: Van Halen, with David Lee Roth as lead vocalist, and Genesis with Phil Collins have already announced concert plans. Reunion tour details are expected soon from Smashing Pumpkins, Rage Against the Machine, Crowded House, the Stooges and, possibly, the Jesus and Mary Chain.
A&M/Universal Music have said the company plans to "do something special" with the band's catalog to commemorate the 30th anni of the release of the breakthrough single "Roxanne." Details have not been announced.
The band will perform Sunday on the Grammy Awards telecast, their first public appearance since they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.
