Thanks for posting this article....I'm suprised [but totally *HAPPY*] that it's still 'alive'. Most articles dissappear after being that old [old-computer old]! Got anymore you can post? Pics? I keep running across shots here and there. Some have where they were, others don't. Just like any unmarked, undated pic-drives me crazy ;D ! Thanks again *jtrock60*

unfortunately no pics. what is funny is, that back then i was not much of a fan. i went to the show more for the novelty factor than anything else. what is even funnier is, that i knew the owner of the club. i got in free and probably could have met john in a very laid back setting, me and my 6 months pregnant belly and all. but i just did not know better.

I'm glad you got to go anyways. I'm very sure you are. Do you have a JT/DD fan there? Hehehehehe.........50 peeps....I'm sure he saw you and jr./jrette!!!! Too bad about the pics. Prob would've nearly blinded John being that close [and he already leagally can't see without his contacts or glasses-thats why he looks so cross-eyed so much in a lot of pics]. "This Is The Moment" this ramble should end....LOL! *jtrocks60*

Too funny - I didn't want the "ramble" to end!!! :)Amazon - thanks for the first hand account of the show - how great that you and just 49 others got to see him up close & personal like that!!! Knowing what a perfectionist John is, he probably played for your small group the same way he did for the millions who saw him (in person & on TV) at Live Aid & the concert for Diana!

;D LOL... I was at this show. Ticketmaster had it listed at Jonathan Taylor... It was very laid back so much that we were out side talking to Larry Aberman (who played Drums for him at the time) after the show... and he asked the tour manager if he could take us back to see John and he just said Sure. That was a great time and the Hallendale, FL show was even better. It went on during a tropical storm and there was not many people there that night. ( I think because the weather was AWFUL!) That place we WALKED right back stage. ;D John was so funny that night. We stayed at the same hotel and our room was right next to Jerry Laffy's and John was the next one down. We ( 3-4 friends and I ) ended up sitting in Jerry's room after the show talking. That was great fun! Thanks for posting this article.

What cool experiences. I was busy raising kids then. John was right about being able to listen to music again!

Hmmm I think that must have been when I saw him in a teeny club here in MI, or around then. I don't remember where now or the date because sis and I literally heard about it on the radio about two hours before it happened, and went on an impulse, but '98 sounds right. I didn't realize it was a whole mini tour. I just remember thinking it was a weird experience, cos of the Duran tunes. They didn't *feel* the same.
Maybe she remembers exactly. I'll have to ask her.
