Likewise. And thanks to Crispin, I'm now calling hair spray products "tonsorial-based ozone depletion" products when I buy them in the future!

Yes, a good review. I'll agree with him that the thing (in terms of what I've heard so far) is not really forced like RCM was. Maybe a bit odd in places, and nothing a second hearing or so hasn't cured my ears of, but not forced.

Definitely a solid review by someone who clearly gets the band's history but wasn't going to simply give them a free pass if the new stuff sucked. I especially like the idea of the album recapturing more the spirit of early Duran Duran than the specific sound! Well thought out and well written, and I have to say I like the fact that the picture at the top includes Dom Brown...something you almost never see. It's almost as if he's a full member, and I have to say it looks pretty natural having him in there. Of course, they then proceed to not even mention him in the write up!

especially like the idea of the album recapturing more the spirit of early Duran Duran than the specific sound! Well, it recaptures both. To say that it doesn't recapture the old sound would just be plain daft, because the influence of the early albums is so obvious throughout the entire record, especially on tracks such as "Being Followed", "The Man Who Stole A Leopard", "Runway Runaway", "Blame The Machines" and then "Mediterranea" from the EP/extended album release.
