Both bass lines have the JT sound in commmon, and while the PG bass does remind us of Girls & Boys, it's definitely not a copy. Alex's bass line is an homage to John, and John's PG bass is very characteristic while also referencing The Gossip's Standing in the Way of Control.

Well you *did* claim he was "copying that very same bass figure"... go figure! Did I claim he was copying it from Alex James? Is it your intention to educate me on the subject of music? Composition, performance or history?

I know if I think on it more will come to me but off the top of my head "life's rich tapestry" by modern English.that would've been a perfect duran song Imo.

I always did love Information Society as well as Naked Eyes over here. Well, even though ABBA was way before Duran Duran, what about anything done by them? How about Angel Eyes, & Eagle for example. I use to listen to them all the time when I was younger & Duran Duran always did in a way remind me of them. Group home page: groups.yahoo.com/group/shelbytyler2015 GREAT reference! ABBA. Wouldn't have thought of that. Caught your Naked Eyes notation after I posted mine. All apologies.
