Rumours swirling that the unnamed album is holding back the single release to July.
Yet again, DD lose momentum.

What momentum? The train hasn't even left the station yet. Momentum won't begin UNTIL the single is released. That's when the casual fans/general public will become aware of what's happening. Right now, the only people that are truly aware are hard core fans like us. The #pressureoff hashtag might be getting some eyeballs and that kind of marketing is definitely critical as we move forward, but right now its just a tease and there's nothing wrong with that. I'd like to think that Warner has good reason for whatever release date they set. That said, I agree that May would be ideal for a summer single...

But if the album to come out in September, July is for the single from the marketing point of view reasonable.

This forum is always so entertaining.. it has to be.
I'll be happy if one single and one album is released this side of X-mas after the long wait.
Long gone is the talk of double ablums (a gold D and a golder D album), so lets just ease the pressure off slowly and be thankful for what we get.
I just hope they dont add lots of extra songs to the album after a few months like they did with AYNIN, and just release a 'making of' album; containing all the best songs they always forget to include.

Can't they move up the album until August?

Can't they move up the album until August? In theory, yes. But labels, like any other company, have limited resources so dates are set so each artist's release gets proper attention. Warner may have a full slate of releases already scheduled for August and can't spare the resources to move the album ahead. I'd love to see a May single and July release...

A single that is released four months ahead of the album would be the true momentum killer. I don't know how true that is anymore...people buy first singles and pre-order albums based on that single nowadays. And what the heck...release a second single in August.
