Is it just me or has the marketing for Pressure Off been a complete disaster?! The release date for the single wasn't made clear, then it was available to buy in some countries and not in others, then available to buy on Amazon but not on iTunes and now not available at all! There has been little radio play so far, no sign of a video or the band promoting it. Maybe this will be change but I am feeling very deflated about how it has seemingly been handled up until now. I love the song, think it is their strongest single in a long time and really think it deserves better!

...give it 6 months.....and the band will start doing interviews and complaining about how the single didn't do nearly as well as expected

I agree, whoever is doing that marketing strategy is launching it messy. Look at how the whole approach is going with this. I hope they release "last night in the city" soon. and some music videos. and update the dd.com website with a better interface. heck, years ago, a fan that hosted duranduranfan.com did a better job, it was straight forward and not messy

Pretty much over when it started, not playlisted by Radio2 here in the UK, seems to have been released simply so they could say "featuring" someone.
Not a great advert for the album- if they viewed this as the right thing to launch it with
I've played this a handful of times and got bored with it and haven't played it since- sounds like a pale re-run of Sunrise

The whole release of PO is a complete failure... And I thought Warner Music had been in the game so long that they knew what to do and get it right! Paper Gods will NOT sell if they don't get this right.
A new launch of their outdated website, a proper music video, interviews, radio play...and maybe PO wasn't the right song??
A shame they don't include their fans in what's happening. Both the single and the album is gone in the Norwegian iTunes as well...
What will happen now??

I really enjoy the single and think it deserves a lot of airplay. It is very poppy and catchy, it sounds modern yet very Duran Duran. Nile Rodgers' guitar parts are wonderful and Janelle Monae's contribution is also very effective. The song is carefully arranged and produced and to me totally sounds like it was designed to be a hit. And I honestly believe the song can be a hit, with the right video and promotion.
No idea why this doesn't happen. Maybe WB simply doesn't push the album at all (they didn't either with Prince's last two albums, he returned to WB last year)? Or promotion starts in a later phase? Perhaps in september when the album arrives?

Maybe WB is doing a slow build kind of strategy?

Remember hardly anyone over 40 is being played on the radio.. I am hardly hearing the new one by Janet Jackson,. Let's see with a remix and an official video..
