I have a problem listening to RCM. This is not DD. There's no real bass and drums. Timbaland's rap is a complete disaster. Can you imagine Timbaland rapping for example on Depeche Mode? For the fun of it, I googled Depeche Mode + Timbaland. That being said, there's lots of things I don't see Depeche Mode doing what Duran has done or does. community.depechemode.com/viewtopic.php?t=24259

Depeche for instance tour Europe on a regular basis... they also release physical product, 12" es of their recent singles, box sets of their past singles, DVDs and blurays of recent tours

I’m seeing that Spirits in the Forest tomorrow night. Exactly! Where is the problem with DD? Now they had the right moment, 40th anniversary and no vynil box sets of singles, DVD's, super deluxe reissues, vinyl reissues, no announced tours that included the EU, nothing ...

Is the band/HQ considering 2020 the 40th or 2021? I suppose if it’s next year it’s not to late to announce a tour, or maybe a release if it’s already in production and we just don’t know about.

Maybe the aim is a new release in 2020 and then throw the 40th anniversary on top of that in 2021 ? Focusing on the 40th anniversary is solely looking back and that is not very Duran Duran as they don't really like to look back when they're recording.
That being said, I would really appreciate it if they recorded a proper version of the track (song) Seven and the Ragged Tiger with the true original band. That could be fun.
Further developing songs that got lost on the way. "Don't look back" also comes to mind.
