Who said streaming isn't profitable? It is, if you can capture it! Hard to do but not impossible! I remember Katy making fun of this song on Whooosh..Katy said she isn't going to make any money..okay Katy! I think you were proven wrong! Not bad for an artist who hardly tours anymore! www.cbsnews.com/news/kate-bush-stranger-things-running-up-that-hill-earning-millions/Duran does own the copyright to their songs, correct? Bush is unusual in the recording industry because she owns the copyright to her recordings, according to Music Business Worldwide. Because of that, she is likely keeping 80% or more of recorded music royalties generated by her recording masters, it noted.

For a true barometer on the song's momentum, I just looked up the number of subscribers for each major streaming service and Spotify has three times the users that Apple does. Spotify currently has 220 MM users (!!!!) while Apple has grown significantly but is still trailing at 90MM. We are an Apple family and I always wondered why they didn't publish their stats like Spotify. Now I know why since they have roughly a third of the subscribers. Apple also does not have a free option like Spotify either. As for how the band leverages the current momentum of Invisible, I agree that they should do more with streaming services somehow. Just shy of 9MM listeners per month is low for a band with their catalogue. And comparing them to Beyonce is ridiculous given the age gap in core fan base and how high her profile has been this century. Here is how DD compares to other legacy artists from the 80s and 90s on Spotify for listeners per month: INXS: 9.6MM The Cure: 17.4MM (!!) Depeche Mode: 13.4MM The Smiths: 15.7MM DD should be putting up similar numbers to those bands given their live following and previous chart dominance. REM: 17.6MM Radiohead: 26.3MM Pearl Jam: 13.4MM Oasis: 20.5MM (!!!) Blur: 11.6MM Nirvana: 30.8MM This is what DD and management should aspire to given their catalogue. Streaming doesn't pay the bills but it does fuel awareness for their tours and potential high profile slots as Glastonbury and Lollapalooza (they already checked off Coachella). So true! Dead on! With Duran's Catalogue they should be over 12 million easily! I don't think Duran PR and Mgmt. are doing enough!

Not a huge amount for the average artist. Starting in January 2024, Spotify will start paying artists once they reach 1,000 streams in the last 12 months. In other words, if you reach 1 million streams, you will receive about $3,000 to $4,000 in royalties throughout your digital distribution.

Seeing my two favourite bands on that list genuinely fills me with glee. Solstice Kiss is a phenomenal track from Simple Minds too.

Duran now put a clip up on their Facebook and twitter account with invisible soundtrack playing to the game.
If it's metal gear solid, Snake the main character is based on John Taylor. Programmer was obsessed with Duran back in the day.

I don't see any resemblance with Solid Snake and John Taylor 😅
