This guy wasn't happy..another blown opportunity with Arena 40th Anniversary ...the quietness in DD camp on albums not tours has been silent all of a sudden? Unless November BF? forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/record-store-day-2024-april-20th.1192231/page-21Disappointed to NOT see anything from The Pink Floyd in regards to "The Division Bell" which celebrates its 30th anniversary in April. A re-issue of the RARE single disc, edited vinyl version from 1994 would have been nice. Also, no Duran Duran, considering "Arena" will be turning 40 this November. A 2-LP release of the FULL 1984 concert from Oakland, CA would be most welcome (RSD Black Friday?) Agree 1984 from Oakland is the bomb š£ and should be released as a double LP š„ I remember back in the day, weeks before Arenaās release on a TV music show in Australia called Music Express, the host holding up an Arena LP cover, opening up the gatefold and telling viewers itās an impending double LP release I couldnāt have been more excited turns out it wasnāt and the host was wrong š from 84 onwards and for many years after, Iād play the Arena LP in full on the day of my actual SBS gig which I attended as, an anniversary thing Must say that GOF version from Oakland ārocksā way too much !!! If ya havenāt heard it ? I insist you must !

No where near good enough IMO The actual version on the SBS tour which I witnessed in person is approx 12 minutes long the Oakland performance is it even the Madison square garden versions arenāt the best as slb had a cold/was recovering As mentioned that Oakland GOF (& total song selection) performance is the bomb š£

It appears on this bootleg mate This bootleg shoulda been the arena LP in double vinyl and no WBs IMO All DDs most important and vital trax up until that time are indeed evident Note GOF at 11 + minutes Once you listen to that GOF version, you donāt go back to any other live version when desiring to listen to a GOF live version But thatās just my opinion Crazy that the cover isnāt from 1984 duranduran.fandom.com/wiki/Save_A_Prayer_(CD)

Agree 1984 from Oakland is the bomb š£ and should be released as a double LP š„ My favourite version of Rio comes from that recording. Love what Nick did with the synths and a pitty we only hear it over the end credits of the Arena movie. I have a 12min version of GOF on this bootleg: 1984-04-12 - Two For The Show (Live Oakland Colisseum,CA,1984)

Go 1:03:35 to listen to GOF āwarningā you will never be quite the same again I witnessed this gig as a 14 year old and let the world beware, it changed my life enjoy Okay thanks! I have heard this before...thanks for sharing ! IMO All ARENA needed to be was this track list on a double vinyl LP A "Is There Something I Should Know?" - 4:31 "Hungry Like the Wolf" - 3:51 "The Reflex" - 5:29 "New Moon on Monday" - 4:10 B "Union of the Snake" - 4:03 "New Religion" - 5:27 "The Seventh Stranger" - 5:11 C "The Chauffeur" - 5:11 "Save A Prayer" - 5:58 "Planet Earth" - 4:19 D "Careless Memories" - 4:17 "Rio" - 5:39 "Girls on Film" - 11:48 & cut out all SLBs talking in between the songs OK āis everybody hungryā can stay no need to stick TWBs on it why TWBs had a band photo on the 12inch and individual members per single on the 7 inch so a collector might by 6 (+12 inch) there4 TWBs woulda sold well anyway in fact by sticking TWBs on Arena may have sabotaged TWBs on the charts, why many who purchased the Arena LP may have felt, āwell I already own TWBs on the album, so why would I purchase the 7inch?ā the live lp woulda sold itself without TWBs on it, after all it was DDs first ever live offering (umm š¤ which as we know, wasnāt totally true in the true sense of the word š)
