"I am a drummer, I am always on time"
He was different than I had expected. When the band reunited, he called me – called me – to say HELLO. He said he had heard lots of nice things about me and was looking forward to meeting me. Wow.
He was not exactly quiet when I met him, but I think he was taking his time to sort me out. He and I went to a party together once, just me and him, it was an event for something. That sort of broke the ice between us. He jokes with me a lot, and has a droll humor. Out of no where he will say or do something outrageous, and you think it's out of character, but really it's not. He laughs every time I ask a waiter or waitress for "brown bread" cause he thinks I talk funny.
While Simon is my lunch buddy, he is the "if you don't want I will take it" buddy. I am well known as an incredibly picky eater and if I don't want it, he will take it off my hands. How he stays so fit is beyond me, but I don't think I have ever seen him eat sweets.
For 3 years now he has promised to teach me to play the drums. It has yet to come to fruition for one reason or another. We always seem to run out of time. Oh, and I don't think he believes me when I say I have a natural inclination toward keeping a beat.
He is very kind, very much a gentleman. He is "easy" in the very best way – he is not a push over, and will express his opinion – but he works hard to make things go smoothly. Is it cliché to say he is the calm port in the duran duran storm?
I have different types of relationships with each of them. Roger is the one I always want on my side
