Vicki is one of my dearest friends and we are all outraged at the treatment she has received. Will let you know how it all turns out.

Who's going to want to trade FLOOR seats for side of stage?! I think that's atrocious what the Centre is doing. I hope Roger gets her the FULL backstage treatment!! Screw the "politically correct" way of thinking (especially for the 'we can't and won't break the rules')

One of my best friends is in a wheelchair, and I can tell you, the handicap accomodations at different venues varies from the sublime to the ridiculous. A the DTE Energy theater she had to pay for a regular ticket (not lawn) but was placed on a platform at the back of the seats, a good 30 rows from the stage. AND in their bathrooms, the doors to the handicap stalls open INWARD! WTH? She was basically trapped once she was in there because there wasn't room to get the door back open. The rest of us finally got a security guard to come help us pull the other walls a fraction of an inch so the door would swing outward and she could get out. She laughed it offin public, but was privately humiliated. We filed a formal complaint and have never received one word of explination or apology from the venue.
I hope Vicki gets a fair shake.

I think a full access backstage pass sounds fair.
Nobel, I feel awful for your friend. I can't believe how badly the handicapped are treated.

I know this is an Aussie venue, but I do think that, at least in the US, architects and planners for public buildings should be certified in ADA guidelines before getting contracts and be required to take at least one course in designing for the disabled before being licensed. Some of the spaces and so-called accessibility in public buildings is ridiculous.
As for Roger's comment...sorry to be negative but it was a bit noncommital.
