..and new single will be released in all possible formats... Now you are dreaming. We will be lucky to get one physical format for the1 st single and i don't expect more than 1 single to be released from the album unless the 1st becomes a top 10 hit worldwide.

Realistically there won't ever be another radio hit for Duran Duran as there's no format interested in playing new music from legacy artists. Any single that is released will be used for promo purposes (same as radio singles) but will most likely be heard via media appearances, social networking, etc.

Realistically there won't ever be another radio hit for Duran Duran as there's no format interested in playing new music from legacy artists. Any single that is released will be used for promo purposes (same as radio singles) but will most likely be heard via media appearances, social networking, etc. Yep......long ago Duran needed to evolve into an album band vs. a singles band. I could kinda understand them trying to recreate their glory days with Astronaut (and, IMO, it was a pretty good album as a whole.....not excellent, but good......Bedroom Toys notwithstanding). I know some folks get irritated by the single-game/second guessing (and I understand that point of view), but personally, I think it would be wise for Duran to choose less "typical single fare" songs to promote new albums. Anyone who vaugely remembers who Duran Duran are already expects the pop single fare from Duran. More of the same isn't going to bring new fans into the fold. What could potentially attract new fans is if folks hear songs that they wouldn't have expected from Duran. Ordinary World did that years ago. And nah - I don't want another Ordinary World. I'm just suggesting that Duran let go of the idea of "hit/radio singles" and instead pick songs that make folks say, "Hmmmm.....thats Duran? Interesting....". Box Full O'Honey would've been my pick from RCM (and no, not suggesting it would have been a "hit".....just that it would have attracted a small number of folks who aren't already into Duran). They've gotta start somewhere in building an audience. Appealing to trendy types is really a one time affair. It's not really building an audience that is going to stick around for more. Legacy artists/bands who still chart well (beyond their first week of a given release) are the ones who make solid beginning-to-end albums, aren't gimicky, and are able to hold onto past fans as well as attract new ones - and they do this without videos or lots of record company promotion. Sorry for the rambling/repeating of certain points.
