well if your avatar has anything like the effect it has on me, on you... you'd be feeling no pain!!

you poor thing though. I had a filling just before Christmas - I just started going to a new dentist, and this was the first work I've had done there. Previously, I had the same dentist my whole life (unsurprisingly he has now retired!)

She was very nice though. The filling was way at the back, and she gave me injections. I could vaguely feel a bit of pain, but it was only when she sprayed cold water to clean around the almost-exposed nerve that I nearly hit the ceiling!

Hope it's not too sore when the painkillers wear off... and it's better than having toothache or rotten teeth! ;D

LOL! You've heard of the phrase, 'Lie back and think of England'? In my case today, it was 'Lie back and think of John Taylor'!

My dentist is lovely, understands just how nervous I am, and doesn't make me feel silly because I'm scared.

Even if he does support Man U. ;D

Last summer I had a cavitity filled in... and the new verneers (sp) put on my front teeth..

The cavitity went fine they froze that.. But for verneers (sp) he had to remove to the old ones and didn't freeze for those.. Oh boy was I ever grabbing the poor arm rests.. Felt like he was sanding off half the tooth.. He says it won't hurt umm you want to make a bet..

I know what a root canal feels like and I can compare this to that..

Oh man...I have a dentist appointment next week! Not looking forward to it since it has been way too long for me!

We have to go to the dentists every 6 months (insurance rule) so I really never have any troubles or fears....lucky me...

due to financial constraints I haven't been to a dentist for 6 years and it sucks. I worry about my teeth all the time. how long are they gonna last in there without some sort of "procedure"? not even a cleaning. YUCK!!

so I am sad because my teeth are dirty and my gums are receding. (and I have OCD about it. if I don't clean my teeth at night I cant sleep!)

Still.. I prefer a dentist over GYN anyday.

RuthsHere: I was the same as you are now. My fear of dentists was that bad. However, I'm lucky that here in in Ireland, we have free medical and dental care, if you earn under a certain amount of money, so that's how I get my teeth taken care of.

But I'd rather go through childbirth than go to the dentists, lol.

Sweet pea! So sorry for you! I hate the dentist too. Unlike Ruth, I prefer going to the GYN. As humiliating as those visits are!
