I thought it was funny the other day when someone mentioned that Warren is starting to look like Moby!..lol The 90's are over. If you want to know how Duran would had ended up if Warren continued with the band, just goto Warren's website. Duran would had de-volved from this wonderful band that use play well crafted pop songs into some neo-hippie, weirdo space age cult, myspace band that goes to camp sites and circuses around the world when they tour. Instead of entertaining us they would be trying to 'enlighten' and attempt to enlist us with this weirdo anti-government conspiracy propaganda. It would feature weekly videos of Nick telling us to make sure we wear our aluminum foil before leaving the house, Simon saying we must light an lavender incense to tap into our subconcious dimension, John chiming that we must vote for Ali Babba Sheik so he can channel our energies into one universal force, Warren, ofcourse just nodding his head (the upper one) and smiling because he thinks that just by smiling will bring all the positive energies around him so he can capture it in his amp, and when he plays the guitar, those energies would circulate around the globe, and Roger agreeing what everyone else just said.

Heh heh. Enjoyed the last coupla posts (Moonagedaydeam and MusicManiac) and am on the same page with you guys. The thing I appreciate about both of you (and several others on the board) is even when we disagree - it's in healthy, "here's my theory.....", non-judgemental, open kinda way. I always question my own views/beliefs in the same way, so......it's fun to have other folks to do that with.
I don't enjoy slagging off on Warren and have often defended him (and Andy) in the whole Andy vs. Warren thing. I respect both of them musically. As both of you have already pointed out, they're both great guitar players, writers, etc. It wouldn't bother me a bit if either (or both!) were back in the fold in a constructive/creative way.
But to believe in the 9/11 conspiracy theories, you have to throw out every bit of logic and evidence available. Starting with the very terrorists who claim to have performed the acts themselves. So....what? They're getting paid by the government to claim responsibility? Or no.....they gain credibility by claiming responsibility for something they didn't do? I mean - no one is stupid here. We can all invent the history to convince ourselves. Warren names Pearl Harbor, the Apollo mission, JFK's murder, and 9/11 as - "undoubtedly lies" ["undoubtedly" is thrown in to indicate that you can not question him.....what he says is absolute! You must surrender!].
These are events that were experienced first hand by thousands, if not millions of people. The Holocaust was experienced by millions also (at least six million who were murdered in camps for no other reason than for being Jewish) - and yet there are still plenty of deniars.
This stuff doesn't happen overnight. Germany began its march to nationalism after being humiliated in WW1.
In order to dismantal "whats in place" - you've gotta convince people that it's inherently bad. Here in the U.S., we're subjected to this constantly - that the U.S. is a terrible country in terms of human rights, etc. when in fact - we as a country display an amazing amount of tolerance and restraint.
By no means am I saying the U.S. is perfect. Not at all. In fact, no one believes that. No one should expect any individual, much less a nation of individuals to be perfect - and yet that's the standard expected of us, but no other country in the world. The thing that makes the U.S. what it is, is the constitution given to us by our framers with a system of checks and balances. We have idiots for politicians - past and present......and yet the constitution allows us to become a "more perfect union".
Warren apparently believes the U.S. government is inherently bad. Evil enough in fact to attack three major landmarks on it's own soil and kill thousands of it's own citizens, not to mention folks from around the world. I question what Warren is trying to take down. Even moreso, I question what he wants to replace it with. Maybe Warren should go hang out with Castro or Ahmadinejad, or Chavez. I have a feeling they'd get along great. They're all great at writing their own versions of history. To what end.....?

To what end you ask? Warren walks in to Mc Donalds and shoots anyone not wearing aluminum foil around their head.

To what end you ask? Warren walks in to Mc Donalds and shoots anyone not wearing aluminum foil around their head. The scary thing is - you're probably right on the money. I doubt he's even thought that far ahead. It's probably just "cooler" to him to be a conspiracy nut, than to admit he has no attention span for really studying and understanding history.

Tange, anytime someone harbors such extremist views whether it's social, political, or religious and goes to the extreme of letting those beliefs to cause them to live in a way that's unhealthy and imbalance definitely has some element of mental illness. He is so extreme and delusional that violence is not out of the equation of what Warren would resort to if he felt some level of persecution. He said in the interview about not "being violent in that situation", so what situation would trigger? He contradicts himself (like that's anything new) and states he had an 'OJ moment'. That means he wanted to do a double homicide killing both Le Bon and Rhodes. Not saying he would do it, but the intense anger he felt indicates that there were subsequent problems with that line up. I am not going to rule out that more than likely some face smacking, pushing, and intimidation shite did go on.

This usually isn't the place for that kinda stuff. In this instance, there's just corelation (generally speaking) between Warren's extreme views and a lot of what is going on in the world....namely, making up history. I'm all for calling folks on the carpet in those instances......ruffled feathers be damned! <grin>
