Ok, so we all have big or small collections that are equallly valuable to us. Every week I see lots of true Duran treasures passing by in the 'whats the latest addition to your collection' thread and I really enjoy that thread. I'm just wondering what do you consider the ultimate top piece in your collection? For the moment mine would be the signed Notorious album that I recently aquired of a fellow member of this board. Its a great item and I get it out quit a lot and have a look at it and just enjoy having it in my hands. Its a strange feeling to have for just an object/ product but to me that one is something really really special. I got lots more treasures but this is the one that gets out the most. So now tell me whats yours

I have three, two are Johns set lists, one from Manchester in 94 (or was it 94, either way it was cold outside!) which is signed by the band. The other is Johns from the Manchester show at the MEN in 2004 (I think!).
My fave item is a signed proof from the Astronaut Calender, which is signed by Nick, one of its kind, and damn cool!

I treasure my CD-R's from Abbey Road and other mastering studios. Probably because I imagine they were in hands of the engineers, band members, and indeed sound like it meant to be. Another thing I treasure is one of the bootleg CD covers Nick Rhodes signed for me (in my presence) with a very skeptic look made me saying 'it is a bootleg' and 'I know, aye!' he replied!

Here are mine. These are mostly the items of which I never actually thought I'd ever own them: - Lay Lady Lay (12" Italy), love that sleeve! - Violence Of Summer (7" promo on clear vinyl South Africa) - Big Thing (7" promo Mexico) - Anyone Out There (7" promo Brazil) not the one with the picture sleeve - A View To A Kill (7" Uruguay) - all the vinyl bootlegs These are the ones I treasure the most. It's obvious from the above mentioned items that I love vinyl the most

My rarest is most definitely my misprinted sleeve Careless Memories UK 12" (yes, it's real, and so far the only one in the world that I've seen or heard of). Next would probably be my CD test pressing for a supposedly never released "US B-sides" collection (not a CDR, but a blank CD, got it in the early'90s - 6 or 7 years before the same compilation was released by the "Russian Fan Club" with the goofy Union of the Snake man" artwork), and never have looked into whether it's legit, but don't care, especially at the time I got it! At that time I'd never heard several of the songs (Faith in This Colour - Original Slow Version, Interlude 1 (Slowed back down to original speed), This is How a Road Gets Made, God (London), and Grey Lady of the Sea), and had none on CD at that time! I can still remember my eyes nearly popping out of my head as each song played (there wasn't even a tracklist). I found it in a tiny little ad in one of those old record collecting newspaper-style publications, paid $30 plus $5 shipping (best $$ I've ever spent on a Duran item). EDIT: It's been confirmed to me that this item was not in fact a Capitol test pressing (also it came out in '96...so much for my memory). Oh well, like I said, it is still one of my favorites, still rare I think, and worth every penny! ;D As for sentimental favorites, first might have to be the North American version of Carnival just because it took me so long to get a hold of it back in the '80s (now I've got 2 US and a Canadian), along with the 4 x EP Japan 2 CD set, another one it took me forever to get (funds were pretty tight and I still played my vinyl regularly so I didn't think I "needed" it)!

I do really love my Planet Earth Harvest 12: signed by all the guys. I also love that My Own Way single for the great Nagel cover. I have a number of setlists from different years, but of those, my fave is the one from the Barrymore that I had Nick sign. I have a few cool DJ remix 12" singles that I like, mostly recent remixes. Oh, and I also really like that Greek tote bag.
Non-Duran faves are the Power Station hot sauce and I forgot the term for it, but the test proof print of the artwork for the Arcadia SRTR album, complete with the colour bars along the side.

Do you have a picture that you can upload of that proof for SRTR? Would love to see that!
