Simple Minds are touring next year, the tour is called 5*5 where they will play 5 songs from their first 5 albums.
How good would that be if Duran did the same.
In days when album sales dont pay the bills, i'm sure a tour like this would be quite lucrative.

I wondered what that was all about. Will have to go and see the Minds this time around me thinks!

25 songs, 5 from each of the bestselling albums, or the first 5?

Five songs EACH from Life In A Day, Reel to Reel Cacophony, Empires And Dance, Sons & Fascination & New Gold Dream 81/82/83/84. This is a must see for anyone who has ever liked this band. Highlighting all the amazing songs they recorded before it all went a bit wrong in the latter part of the 80s...

excuse me but this tour has only 4 gigs in 4 tiny venues for the uk. duran did this in the rehearsal tour before the 2nd us leg. not exactly but the rehearsal set list was sort of a diehard duran set list. by the way the only songs i know from this band is dont you and sanctify yourself. never liked this band. edit now i've read in wikipedia there is going to be a tour with more european gigs

I would definitely see Simple Minds on this tour if they played the US. If Duran Duran did the same, I'd want them to do it in chronological order. That way I could cut out when they moved on to Big Thing and beat the traffic home.

Camden date already sold out annoyingly. I wondered if it was Sisters Feeling Call instead of New Gold Dream, but I know it was originally a double LP. Dont think anyone is comparing Duran to ver Minds in terms of sales - its the concept of revisiting the earlier stuff live. DD virtually did that on the reunion tour (well first two albums anyway!!)

The Birmingham date is the only one I'd be able to attend probably, so I need to get some tickets very soon.

Duran have too many albums to do justice to them all this way...unless they switch it up and pick 5 albums to cover/night.
