Once again thank you. Would any of these standard pressings be limited to less than 100 copies? trying to get an idea of how many of a certain item were pressed is always very hard. the record companies tend to not let the info out as it is not in their best interests for the band to know, let alone the public. in the case of acetates, they are normally made for the producer, band and label to hear a mix before it gets pressed. so in most cases there are less than 10 of them made. but as far as promos and commercial pressings, every country is different and it's never easy to find a solid source of info. bootlegs are the same. it's impossible to know how many were pressed unless you talk to the person who pressed them. most of the rare dd boots came from japan, so getting any solid info is very difficult. About "The Reflex for Duran Duran. Greatest Hits Live during 82/84" is written 500 copies, is this really true?

Hi all and thanks for the welcome. I'm a huge vinyl collector and I do have a reasonable DD collection. I hope to be able to share some of it with the forum in the near future. Just out of curiosity...but aren't you contradicting yourself here with what you said earlier: "I'm new to collecting Duran Duran vinyl so I appreciate all the information."

About "The Reflex for Duran Duran. Greatest Hits Live during 82/84" is written 500 copies, is this really true? i had always heard that the reflex for duran duran was a run of 500. that sounds reasonable for a bootleg like that. i think most boots in the 80s would have been 500 or 1000 copies to start out and if they sold them all, they would reprint them. i think the live 82 one must have been copied/reprinted a few times as you can see it with a pink cover, an orange cover and a yellow cover. part the of issue with the history of these boots is it was very common for a bootlegger to buy a copy of a record made by pirate A and then re-boot it himself. which explains why some versions of that hammersmith 81 show sound nice on vinyl and why others are ghastly sounding.

Typo on my behalf. Should have read: "I'm new to collecting Duran Duran forums". I have been collecting vinyl including DD for approx. 38+ years. My main passion is for Punk and the New Wave/New Romantic eras.

LOL. I come in here, mainly to torture myself with things I will never be able to afford. I swear I don't know how some of you find the stuff you do and often for FAR less than I ever see things go for. It really drives me insane. And right now, I have NO money because I am about to try ot go to the show coming up as soon as it is officially announced and tix go on sale.
