@ Dani---UGH, I have always HATED West Coast and Southern Rap (krunk, whatever, LOL). With the exception of Snoop Dogs "Drop It Like It's Hot", but of course, he had lots of help from Pharrell (even though he's from right here in Va Beach, we're not "southern rap", LOL!!!!!)

I forgot to mention, after I ejected her CD, LOL, I threw in my old Tribe Called Quest. She called it "oldies but goodies"!! That's what I call my parents' music!!!

maybe his kids have drilled it into his head!!!
In that respect, I am old. But as far as alternative and pop, I can still hang with the young ones!!!

I work at a college...
Some days the kids make me feel young...
Some days I feel ancient!
I feel your pain...

I stopped trying to keep track of the latest stuff years ago, and never cared much for hip hop. I like to tell people I like my music like my wine, properly aged.

O.K., I'm in the car with my sister (I'm 35 and she's almost 21) and she's driving. She puts a CD in and tells me it's rap (which is fine with me, I'm a hip hop fan from WAAAY back). It's sombody named Young Jeezy (or however you spell it) and it SUCKS!! I ask her "what the hell is that?" she says "You don't know nothing about hip hop" I said "Hold up, THAT is not hip hop, you don't know nothing about hip hop, little girl" Then I'm thinking to myself.....that's something my mother would say!!!! Anyway, like I said, I love me some hip hop from way back in the 80s and early 90s, (BDP, EPMD, Erik B., Brand Nubian, etc., you catch my drift). Other than Jay Z, Outkast and Common, I don't what in the world some of this stuff out now is!! Do I just need to get with the program or what............. Do you listen to Russ Parr in the morning? www.therussparrmorningshow.com/home.asp If so you should because they make fun of Jeezy, The Game and some others it's hilarious. You can listen to him online too. I listen to it all, but what I actually purchase is another story. I've sung the praises over and over again of Lupe Fiasco. I also love Nas's new album too. Both are pretty good. There's good stuff out there but it's not played on the radio because Southern Rap is all the rage. My impression of what John wrote in the postcard just appeared to be that he new what artists are out there. Not necessarily that he liked him ;D
