I made a comment elsewhere on this forum about bootleggers 'Voodoo'. I have various duran demos and live albums produced by Voodoo and the quality is far superior. What are some of the names of their bootlegs, and how is the sound quality?

Curious about these Voodoo label bootlegs... how many are there and where did you find them?

I have seen this site before, always wondered about their quality. But the Voodoo titles are CDRs? Then it's a big no-no for me. I have one Duran2.net titel that is a CDR, the original Beacon Theater release, "The Final Show". Bought it some 8 years ago I guess. It does not play anymore, which is a pity as this release is the only title which has the Lou Reed tracks on it.

Well, it is a fact that genuine pressed CDs are the best! No doubt!! Absolutely no doubt!!!! But I also have quite a few self-made CD-Rs and CD-Rs from other people in my collection, and all of them are still playing! Some of them are more than 10 years old. Isn't it also important how the quality of those CD-Rs is, how you handle them and how you store them? Just my opinion...

Isn't it also important how the quality of those CD-Rs is, how you handle them and how you store them? Just my opinion... Sure it does, but I rarely played my Final Show CDr and it is safely stored in my CD rack with a constant temperature outside of the sunlight. I am not saying that *all* CDrs stop playing after 5 years, I am just saying my bootleg CDr is not playing anymore. There are also others suggesting that CDrs will start to show problems after 6-7 years, see e.g.: www.techarp.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=641&pgno=0. This seemed to be independent from the CDr's quality (i.e. known brand or not). I would not pay 'bootleg prices' for CDrs anymore, they have to be silvers. Some of these Voodoo titles look pretty interesting though. I agree someone has to confirm whether these are or are not CDrs. They do not appear to be listed in discogs.com which is usually pretty comprehensive; the DD Fan Club releases are. This makes me suspicious.
