I did not know about this until the 14th. I ordered then. Any idea when to expect it to arrive in the US? I wonder what number I will get. Also, I never knew CDRs go bad so quickly. What about things you record on them on your own computers? I have made CDs for people in the past for Christmas. Are they going to stop working? That sucks. I thought the point of a CD was that it would last.

A CDr is not a CD. But Unleashed is a proper CD, not a CDr.

I don't really get the issue over CDrs. As long as you keep ripped backup you can burn a new CD (or just listen to wave files on your computer) any time you want. It's not like the music would be lost forever (as it was for me in the '90s when I paid way too much to a UK seller - for a bunch of the old crappy dark blue CDrs, back before I had a computer, and most if not all of them began glitching within a few years. That really sucked, although I've been able, thanks to downloads from teh internets, to recoup pretty much everything I lost).
I mean, I obviously prefer nice authentic silver CDs, and I do agree that CDrs should be revealed as such up front, and obviously priced accordingly. Speaking of price, duranduranstore may have the most incredible selection around, but the prices are obnoxious. They could be cut in half across the board and the store would still be raking in $$ (actually maybe more, since people like me would actually shop there and buy a bunch of things were that the case). I certainly hope that no one pays those prices for any "fan club" titles when they're almost all still available for way less from the actual source!

What kind of worries could come to ones mind? Oh, I don't know...like, never getting what you paid for? A couple years back, I attempted to purchase the Beautiful Coulours, B-Sides Ourselves, and another boot from a seller on ebay (user: day-bidder) that never sent the product. I contacted her a couple times in which she informed they were supplied to her (or sent from?) a guy in Russia and that she would fix the problem. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and plenty of time but it got to the point that she was no longer responding to my messages. Eventually she did respond with a lot of apologies over personal issues and asked me to give her a little more time.
I gave her time but failed to realize that I had come to the point of the window closing on ebay intervention. It essentially ran out and I was left with nothing. So yeah...stupidity on my part for being too trusting, sympatheti,c AND not paying attention to ebay policy. It's left me feeling burnt ever since.
That said, purchase anything from 'day-bidder' at your own risk! Just wanted to update this post as the seller made good on this purchase with the help of one very, VERY, awesome forum member and fellow Duran Duran fan. Nothing but love and respect to you kind stranger! You know who you are!! Also, seriously HUGE thanks go Duran2.net! You have won me over! GREAT SERVICE!

As I mentioned in the "latest addition to your collection" thread yesterday, the Unleashed CD finally arrived, but the whole case is pretty much a loss (cracked, in pieces) - better packaging would help. Luckily the CD and artwork were ok. I got #42. So, my thoughts:
01. Soundburst test - eh, not really needed and don't know what the point was. 02. WHT (JJ mix) - have this already, but nice to have on this compilation. WHT is probably one of my favs off Astronaut. 03. Serious (7" remix) - I quite like this. Fortunately for me, my CD was not a mispress, so the other version is a different version. 04. Someone Else...(PH radio mix) - Again, have this version. I don't know why everyone seems to dump on Pop Trash as an album as it really has some great tracks on there. 05. Falling Down (extended) - first time hearing this - will have to compare to album version, but the ending of the song is definitely a bit of solo guitar work. 06. Regret no more - I find this track a bit funny because it's apparent that John has no f'ing clue as to what he's talking about and either he or the band seem oblivious to what they've done previously in the studio (as apparently John wasn't there in Paris when all this was taking place given the recent evidence). 07. AVTAK (12") - nice! It's not the greatest remix of the song, but it's still nice to have an official (albeit unreleased) mix. Given that next year is 30 years since AVTAK was released, it would be great to see a white vinyl 12" (with labels mirroring the UK 7" white vinyl) with this mix, the 7" and the instrumental in a picture sleeve (like the German 12") released for Record Store Day. Naturally this would have to be numbered and limited to a certain amount of pressings (say 1,985?). 08. Electric Barbarella (Stonebridge radio edit) - I have this already. Stonebridge actually made this song somewhat listenable for me. 09. Sunrise (JS mix) - another song I already have - good remix. 10. Serious (7" House mix) - I like this version as well. Serious is actually one of my fav songs off of the ill fated Liberty album - damnit, rework this album and re-release it! 11. ASWI (BB dance mix) - had high hopes for this mix, but...guess it was better left unreleased! 12. Perfect Day (AR dry vocal) - an interesting listen and nice to hear it stripped back. 13. TMI (dub mix) - to be honest, it really sounds like the other dub mix out there. 14. EB (ES mix) - heard this before from the promo 12"...meh. 15. ASWI (RN version) - as with the other remix on this comp, it's no wonder it never got issued. 16. Rio (EI mix) - didn't have a chance to fully listen to this, so I have to revisit. 17. Tomorrow Never Dies (demo) - same with this song, only listened to the first 20 seconds or so and got pulled into doing something else, so I have to revisit it.
Overall, a good compilation and worth the money spent for it. I would advise the dd fan club to invest in better mailing packaging to avoid destroyed cases though.

I ordered it together with the Drum: An Extraordinary Adventure DVD and the Unleashed CD & artwork were stuck inside the DVD case! I was a bit upset, and more so when I saw that, because the CD was stuck playing face down on top of the Drum DVD, it had a 1/4" radial scratch (light, but clearly visible) from spinning slightly during shipment and rubbing against the printed surface of the DVD. Radial scratches being much more skip/error prone than linear ones, I was relieved to find that the CD plays (& rips) fine. I think they did it this way because the CD was advertised with free shipping, but it still seems a bit lame. Luckily I have plenty of new clear full jewel cases around at home, so disc & artwork will soon be in their proper place...or case. Oh well, considering that this is only the second mis-step I've experienced in many, many years of ordering from that site, and the CD plays fine, I'm just happy to have it! BTW, mine is regular edition #173.

I suggested this to DD's management and got a response. My suggestions (a 2LP set of the 1987 Ahoy concert and Medazzaland/Pop Trash on vinyl being the other ones) have been forwarded to the person(s) who were looking into a RSD 2015 DD release. So fingers crossed...
