Anyone else out there have parents dealing with serious medical conditions? My dad has bad cancer and it's pretty stressful to see his health decline.

sorry about your father. i hope he wins his battle with his cancer. i really do. i lost both of my parents about six years apart. one from liver disease and the other to a brain stem stroke. both were not that old. my mom was 56 and my dad was 62. i hope all goes well with your dad and that he can over come it. the best i can do is just to send ya a big ((((((((((HUG))))))))))))) and just hang in there.

My mother is working on her fourth cancer. She won't stop smoking and her health has declined in the last year or so. It's hard. She's not my mom like she was.

It's so hard to watch those that used to protect us and take care of us getting older and becoming less able to care for themselves. I hate to think that in 10 years (give or take) I wont have my mom and dad around anymore. It's kind of sureal.

It *is* difficult. My best to everyone dealing with a loved one who's sick and declining in health.

I am very lucky. Not only am my parents still relatively healthy, my maternal grandparents are also healthy. In fact my grandparents spend almost every night visiting friends or going to the casino. My grandfather just turned 85. I still have several great aunts and uncles who are healthy and in their 80's. My great aunt is 94. Only now is she starting to fail. She still lives by herself (she's a widow). I had two great grandmothers live to an older age (89 and 96). I never realized how lucky I am. Sorry to hear about everyone's sick parents. I hope they get better.

My dad died at 56 with a brain tumour although the fall from a hospital roof didn't help as he died a few hours after that but I really hope everyone pulls through.
