I actually met my husband through lavalife.com a few years ago. It was one of those "picture and paragraph" kind of sites though, not as thorough as eHarmony seems to be. Of course I met a handful of guys on there (just online, not in person) who would be considered frogs before I met my prince. But anyway, look at any of those sites as just being "for fun" so that it doesn't feel like a chore, and who knows, you might just meet someone special.

My friend's mom paid for her to sign up on eharmony, because she was turning 35 and getting depressed about her future. They matched her with a guy who is perfect for her, and they have been happily married for a few years. She was the type who would have balked at the idea, but when her mom offered, she thought, "Why not? I won't be out the money." She wound up paying her mom back. : ) It wouldn't hurt to try. Good Luck!

my hubby and I met on Match.com 5.5 years ago. it was good for meeting people in my area. I had too many long distance relationships before that...

I think that if you are careful, it's a great idea. Seems like a lot of people have success with it. A friend of mine married a great guy she found on one of those sites.
